4/14 Recruiting Update with key Miami targets along with a recruiting pod from Monday

The WR yes, the Safety/Striker haven’t even heard his name.

I think Harrell gets Pt/special teams.

Washing is depth and has the frame so I doubt he leaves.

Walker can’t afford to leave. He needs to structure, school and support of the program.

Flagg is in the 2 deep so doubt him.

10 sounds like a high number. Maybe 6
Ah, gotcha, I to, have forgotten about the safety/striker..
Thought you were referring to the wr, my bad.

Let’s not sugar coat this - a 5 star OT is a game changer at a position of need.

Mims moves the needle.

I agree I said he would love the needle but not set the tone. Mario landing a top 10 or even 5 class sets the tone

I'm not trying to overstate how big of an impact he would be because we would be fine without him.

But Mims makes a bigger impact immediately than any 5* this cycle. And he's making an impact for the next 2 seasons which are crucial for Mario's momentum.

He has a full extra year of strength/conditioning/coaching at a top 3 program nationally than any '22 kid and will be gone before 90% of the '23 kids make any contribution.

He would make an impact especially with what Gattis wants to do but if we didn’t land him it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

People around here think Manny is still the coach… things have changed. Remember we’ll never land everyone. It is what it is…

We have 17 on the OL now so if we're taking another 1-2 in the portal than expect 2-3 to leave. To sign 5-6 more portal kids i think 8-9 would have to leave to make the #'s work.

10 of this group

Redding
Reed
Harrell
Washington (Chris)
Washington (Keyshawn)
Flagg
Walker
Ishmael
Rodriguez
Troutman
Brooks
Huff
Motocha
1 of the CB's idk which.
Ishmael’s dad is an assistant S&C coach so doubt he leaves after 1 year. Ive heard Rodriguez absolutely raves about Mario and Mirabal so I doubt he leaves unless ask/told too.

Good stuff Geo. Tennessee over paying their qb has thrown everything off. The demands are getting to an insane amount. Good luck recruiting five star qb’s going forward.
Seriously. This is only going to get crazier. The way we’re heading you’re not even going to be able to get your hat on the table at a 5* signing ceremony without a million dollar NIL offer

It is definitely unsustainable at a point. Ruiz is just bleeding through cash right now. I doubt any of these boosters get any type of return on these deals. You can't tell that these guys could afford/are willing to spend say $30 million a year on players. I don't care who your alumni network is, that's not possible.

It’s a bummer how right you are… but these Cali kids can actually get bread in high school…. No NIL, Rashada would be ours. Gotta take good with the bad… still not over, but doesn’t look as promising.

When you have billions, $30m a year is peanuts.

The ROI for a Texas oil tycoon to see the Longhorns / Aggies actually win on the field is worth $30m a year to them.

Maybe for Ruiz that is true, but how many schools actually have a billionaire booster who is fanatic enough about sports to do these deals? I'd say only a handful of them satisfy both those conditions (Texas oil schools for sure).

Commitment is good but we need results
We haven’t signed a big fish yet
No shemar
No Connelly
Missed on a lot of big time transfers
We still haven’t closed on any potential program changing recruit yet

Bro; lol….listen, I ain’t an O&G glass wearing fan, but this take is waaaaay off. Lol.

U do realize that Mario came here on 12/6/21 w/ early signing Day falling on 12/15/21 (9 days to recruit) & signing day falling on 2/2/22 (8 weeks to recruit), right? We went from the, what, high 50’s-low 60th ranked class when he came on board, outside the top 30 after early signing day, & finished top 15, all w/in 8 weeks??! Bro, that’s amazing.

During Diaz we had only:
K Rodgers
M Williams
C Graves
I Horton
J Brown

Post Diaz:
W Bissainthe
J Harris
C Moss
J Skinner
T Citizen
N Kelly
A Moten
M McCoy
A Cooper

Come on bro; this is by far the best transition class we’ve had since 2007. Context is everything
