3 days later, are you more/less impressed with the win over florida?

most people (outside of the delusional on this board) recognize that Florida has a good defense and it was pouring rain on and off

not saying more performances like that would be great, but those acting like it was terrible clearly didn't see the QB(that was a heisman favorite preseason) of the team we dominated in the same game
can we say the defense is good when they're missing three starters on the offensive line

Did we dominate? 344 total yards to 141 says, Yes, we dominated-sort of.

But did we put them away like we should have? No. We could have, but the early whistle is part of the game-anyone that has watched countless hours of football throughout the years will tell you the same.

The 4Q started 13-7, and UF has the ball at midfield after an interception, having seemingly figured out our defense on the previous 80-yard TD drive. Through 3 quarters , we are not dominating the scoreboard-it is a one-score game and UF is feeling pretty good right now.

Thankfully, our defense finds its form again and stops UF on our -31 on 4th down.

We then go 3 and Out and UF again has the ball with a chance to take the lead-I’m not feeling the domination at this point in the game deep into the 4Q.

Again, our defense comes through and stops UF,3 and Out, and then we start the drive that seals the game and makes it 19-7 scoring at the 4 min mark.

It is hard for me to say we “dominated” when this game was still in doubt with just 4 minutes to go in the 4th Qtr.

We were clearly the better team, but I'll save "dominated" for the USF-type wins.

I remember a lot of games when we were at our peak that we still had games like that offensively.

Ken Dorsey
2000 vs La Tech 16-31 185 1TD 3INT
2000 vs Temple 12-23 205 2TD 1INT
2001 vs BC 20-41 222 0TD 4INT

And there were a handful of other games where if you looked at Dorsey's stats they weren't great.
But guess what - in those games we ran the ball and our defense was ferocious!!!!'
this is a great post. I'm guessing most people posting on here weren't alive or just "choose" to forget

I don’t care who we play. This program is learning how to win. In past years before Mario we struggled against basically anyone with a helmet.

Yep, unless they start becoming more explosive in offense. I can def see something that happen to UF vs USF against a well coached team with decent talent.
I think the offense will get better as the year goes. this is still a great offense, just a lot of new pieces. Especially the QB who didn't throw a football until after spring.

I feel fine, im not less or more impressed, matter of fact the game went about how I thought it would go. I knew the Gators would give us all they had, it’s a rival game, and they do have lots of talent, talent wise they are about as good as us, and the score could’ve easily been 40-7

fair assessment

THIS

Was thinking when Thomas sacked Lagway that play could have gone wrong in about 100 different ways. Lagway is a big kid. Thomas didn’t let the moment get to him and go for some crazy kill shot he stayed within the rules and executed it perfectly
He was 1/4 of a second away from the following

It happens to every team, no matter how good. Its the nature of competition. In 2002 Miami was losing to Rutgers, at Rutgers, at the end of the third quarter. Rutgers in 2002 was barely an FCS team.

Agreed. Ohio St beat Ohio a couple of weeks back in shall we say in a less than impressive outing.

All gaping ****** jokes aside, i thought this game would be close with us pulling away late.
That’s what happened but in an even more of a statistically dominant way than expected.

I’m good.
Forget style points, especially in the next 2 games.
Just win and get even better as the season progresses.

This is not that. The offense has not shown potency in the air and the lack of explosive plays is noticeable. They need to be better and I think they will be.
