3 Canes in the XFL

Still a believer that televised minor league football can work in the US if done right.

People want an alternative to the No Fun League.

Conversely you can say he's small, close to the bottom 1/3rd percentile of athletes for NFL WRs, old for his class (19.5 as a freshman), and doesn't excel in any one particular area. He went low in the draft because he's just not very good. He got production with Kaaya the same way Rashad Greene was a force with Jameis Winston.

Stacy Coley & Tommy Streeter are 2 of the most frustrating Canes WR's I can remember.

Both had good seasons at Miami - but they seemed to be fine with coasting on their natural talent vs really putting the work in to become better.

I think Streeter was limited by being a tall fast guy who doesn't change directions well. When Fisch was OC he produced about as well as you could hope for. I didn't have super high expectations for him as a prospect when he committed.

If anything Aldarius Johnson was the frustrating one.

I agree - that hurt Streeter quite a bit. Plus he was in Shannon's doghouse along with Sam Shields.

We had Travis Benjamin, Leonard Hankerson, Sam Shields, Tommy Streeter, and Aldarius Johnson at WR on our roster at one point and couldn't get more out of them - smh.

Definitely could be something to watch to hold over until the draft. Wish it went from May-July though. That’s the real dead period of the NFL. After players leave OTA in early June, training camp doesn’t start until late July. At least from February to May, you have the draft and free agency. Maybe the casual fan isn’t interested in that stuff but I doubt they’d be interested in 2nd maybe 3rd tier league.

Don't forget Laron Byrd and Allen Hurns in 2010. Shields was a CB.
