2027 Race to 300

I doubt the staff measures itself by what a group of internet analysts rates the class, high school or portal.

Your meta point is dead on. We need talent balance across all positions and all stages of development. I expect us to be super picky about portal this season. But the guys we do take will be top tier. I also expect we’ll pick up some late bloomers, late flips and juco guys. Mario will go after talent wherever he can get it.
What position you see us hitting the jucos for,TE?

With the Julius Jones commitment, ND now has the 2nd highest composite class, Miami moves to 3rd place.

Want to get that Eli Woodard commit just to jump them.
Wasn’t from the jones commitment. They got some low 4* D lineman to commit today. That pushed them ahead by a fraction of a point with 1 more player committed. By my math Woodard would move us back in front by 5-6 points.

We have the highest class average on the composite at 93.16. 2nd highest is ND at 93.03.

We are at 289.51 and #3 on composite.

Quick update to something I’ve posted before. (65% of this years class is in the top 250, our best prior was 52% in Richt’s last class)

Oh, also, our cumulative blue chip ratio under Cristobal has surpassed any individual class in the previous 13 years. That’s insane.

Aggies take a bunch of bums lately? Don't they have like 6 5 stars? Would have thought they'd have the highest average .

I think this deserves additional digestion.

Sure, I want the #1 overall class, which factors highly ranked recruits combined with raw volume. If I can have 30 blue-chips vs 20, yes, give me 30. Obviously. We’re 3rd, overall. Which is unreal.

But, we have THE HIGHEST average croot ranking in the country. And it’s not like it’s with 8 kids. This is almost a full “traditional” 25-man class. And, the quality is unmatched. Literally.

I used to pray for times like this, man. This **** is so, so, so setup for us to be really ******* good for a really long time. Natty? Idk. Football is a high variance sport. But if we keep this **** up, keep our coaches, and the funds keep coming, I think we are on a trajectory to sit here in 2030, 2031, 2032 and say “I don’t think a single program was better than ours, consistently, from 2025-2030”. And it’s been **** near forever since I had anywhere near that level of optimism.

Go on a deep playoff run again this year and this **** is gonna get REALLY scary.

I think one thing that could eventually play even more in our favor in the recruiting war is the HC turnover. Cristobal isn’t ever going anywhere. Hes got his dream job. But with some of our recruiting competition, we might see major changes. If Elko doesn’t make a deep playoff run at some point, I think TAMU pulls the plug in a couple years (assuming he doesn’t die of a heart attack first). Ryan Day strikes me as the type to leave for the NFL, especially if he doesn’t win again soon. DeBoer probably gets fired at the end of next season. Of course those programs will likely hire good coaches to replace the HCs that leave/get fired , but it still creates turmoil and that benefits us.
