2027 Race to 300

I think one thing that could eventually play even more in our favor in the recruiting war is the HC turnover. Cristobal isn’t ever going anywhere. Hes got his dream job. But with some of our recruiting competition, we might see major changes. If Elko doesn’t make a deep playoff run at some point, I think TAMU pulls the plug in a couple years (assuming he doesn’t die of a heart attack first). Ryan Day strikes me as the type to leave for the NFL, especially if he doesn’t win again soon. DeBoer probably gets fired at the end of next season. Of course those programs will likely hire good coaches to replace the HCs that leave/get fired , but it still creates turmoil and that benefits us.

Especially at the close. I guarantee even this year we'll get a flip or two or three. Another coaching staff and/or program is going to look vulnerable and we'll be there to take their best commit.

I said on the CIS podcast to Danny and Peter in late November when the coaching carousel was revving up how lucky Miami was to have a guy who considers Miami to be his destination job(and right in his coaching prime)

Get your popcorn brother. The next decade is going to be a wild ride. Young bucks will be saying "Nick who?"

Well if players generally stay 4 yrs, that would make a $40M team purely off HS. Seems reasonable with the lone exception of starting QB pay. Well and the fact that you expect players to progressively make more their So/Jr/Sr yrs…but like if you have 20 players committed and spend $10M, I feel like you aren’t averaging paying $500k/player as Freshman, so the $10M

But if you go 4+5th yr is 30% of costs, 3rd yr is 27%, 2nd yr is 23%, 1st yr is 20%.. of a $40-$50M “cap” that’d be $8M-$10M HS signing class….

but more likely there is a larger difference between 3rd yr guys and 1st yr guys. And it’s also possible that actually the 4-5yr guys are actually NOT the superstar high earners. Likely the highest paid group is 3rd yr guys tbh. Like it should probably be 5-4yr is 25%, 3rd yr =33%, 2yr = 28%, 1yr =52.143 wk 14% type thing….

This Chumbo can I have the number one glass this year but we all know who has the most talented class in the country right now and that’s the university of Miami and there ain’t no two ways about it. Our average recruit ranking is through the roof and I wouldn’t trade our class for anyone’s.

Oregon is on our tail and will 100% pass us soon after they land Xavier Sabb this week.
3-7 is the sweet spot out of HS and in Portal. I think we probably finish 3rd or 4th. But if we finish 5th/6th but with either 1st/2nd by average? That would still he perfect imo. I think 6th is our absolute floor this yr.

Texas rose in the ranking hella quick, which I was expecting. Personally I still think OU and UF could pass us with volume if they sign like 30….

Thats the thing, as long as that average is around 93 I just dont care about final ranking. We knew it would be a small class and we have made the most of it. Still want 300 but care about that average more. It sends a clear message we are recruiting on an elite level.
