2026 Roster Discussion

You'd think that signing some of these quality transfers might help with respect to the draft, i.e. if the recruits don't go where expected or get their $number, maybe we get lucky?

With the addition of Sosa, the lineup looks set to be one of the best in the ACC (if we don't get hurt too bad by the draft). This is what I'm potentially seeing:

C: Sosa
1B: West
2B: Sheahan
SS: Ogden/Magana
3B: Cuvet
LF: Galvin
CF: Torres
RF: Williams
DH: Dubrovik/Copeland/Zaun

Still work to be done with the pitching staff, but this is what the talent level of a Miami baseball lineup should be

Don’t sleep on Tim Piasentin, he’s elite

Piasentin and a few others are expected to go....
Hopefully we can retain as many as possible.
I expect Ogden, Hugus and Walters to leave for the draft. Williams is 50/50 in my opinion.

I think he's back. I think our only 50/50 eligible guys are Evans and Ogden. Walters and Hugus are gone
From what i’ve heard Evans is going to be late decision. We will know the fate of that on the last day of the draft maybe even later. He wants to go to pro ball I would assume it’s just up to him to decide if another year is worth it. Ogden in my eyes signs unless he slips in the picks. But it’s hard to say he will. He plays the right way, says the right things, a pro team would love him.

Funny how guys are so eager to go pro when only 10% of minor leaguers ever make it to the big show

If you’re not dominating college, you’re not going to dominate minors

Have you heard anything on pitchers we’re after? Any portal guys potentially committing?

Absolutely terrible way to view it. Life long dream is a life long dream, and if you go off dominating college then only sub 5% do that. So if we’re playing the odds game, nobody should be trying to go pro.
