2026 Portal QBs

Another lesson learned about locking this up sooner is when we make these deep runs you don't want to be dealing with this as you're trying to prepare for a NC game. They should have locked up Bailey right at the end of the season or when they made the playoffs.

They did try to lock it up they whiffed on a bunch of guys. They just arent very good at it with QBs for whatever reason.

Soresby should have been written off as soon as his gf enrolled at TT and their billionaire booster said price doesn’t matter. Bailey was the play from the start

I agree.
I initially was completely against it.
But then came around to D$’s approach.

But you cannot get outbid if this is your approach. There can’t be a price you aren’t willing to exceed.
And you can’t be so deliberate. The portal isn’t like HS. There are only so many established guys worthy of starting at an upper tier P4 school a year.
When you deliberately don’t recruit with the intent of getting one, you can’t just go after the perfect 10 each year.

I believe one-year rentals wouldn’t disrupt much, and we’re thin at a few of those spots.

WR — I don’t really trust anyone coming back other than Mali. We didn't aim at the top targets
DE — Wilson would be a **** of a get. We’re losing too much production and talent
S — Koi would be an upgrade over what we have, although I do like the BC transfer.
DT — We need two. We’ve got one so far
LB — I wanted Briles. We’ve got talent here, but I think he’d be an upgrade

WR - You have Wingo + Parris; what did you think of Keelan and CJ at this time last year?
DE - you will never replace Messidor and Bain. Lowe is coming back healthy and you have other young guys. Agree Wilson would be huge to add
S - If Corey didn't want him, it was for a reason. Bryce and Zachariah + Omar is elite
DT - Need Moten back and we are fine here as well. Though yes, I'd take the Nebraska guy as well, obviously
LB - this is actually where I think we need most help. Toure coming back is a great first step, but really wish we would've added fella from Cal or Biles
