There are obviously staffers working behind the scenes.

Offered Pitt QB a bunch for it to be turned down.

They are turning over the stones that haven't been made public.

they also publicly said they were not holding visits during "game prep" for cotton bowl. Stupid decision and one most other schools did not follow. Hence why our portal class is what it is and why Indiana had all their needs filled. Staff has had multiple missteps in the portal and some of their philosophies are finally coming back to bite them when you dont pull a ward or beck out of a hat last minute. No matter what some would have you believe you cannot always pull a first round qb out of the portal.

"UM so far has signed four players in the portal: Ohio State defensive tackle Jarquez Carter, Boston College slot cornerback Omar Thornton and receivers Cam Vaughn (West Virginia) and Vandrevius Jacobs (South Carolina)."

If all of this is obvious to fans, how are we still dragging our feet? I can understand prioritizing the game on Monday, but there should be staffers working on this behind the scenes until it gets done. Zero urgency.

It’s not obvious to all the fans. Because it’s been quite a few that was under everyone post talking about people panicking etc.

Meanwhile Lane pulls 3 portal qb’s, 2 are likely better than any qb on our roster at the moment. One of them we went after. The optics aren’t good. Our qb strategy is very bad and requires a lot of luck.

The optics are Mario is coaching to win a national championship and Lane is sitting somewhere not working leg day.

This is bang on incredibly brain dead decision. Also winning the title isnt permission to have a down year especially when its their own fault it happened.

What about a 5 star HS QB, Keisean Henderson, #1 overall recruit and #1 QB in the 2026 class? Committed to the University of Houston. Perhaps 6 million would convince him he's a P4 QB. Could he win the starting job or are we just interested in transfers?
