Is this a situation where a qb and their agent would say hey let’s string them
Along until the literal last day you can jump in so we can get the most out of their desperation?

Some people on this board believe Mario’s approach to QB portal recruiting is good. Others, like me, think it’s not.

Regardless of which side you’re on, failing to land a quarterback is an undeniable miss by Mario and the staff. We’re playing in the national championship on Monday. Cam Ward was the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft. Beck is going to get drafted.

If we still come up empty, Mario deserves warranted blame and criticism for failing to sell this opportunity. He's a coach that wants to get judged for his talent acquisition. Usually it's spectacular. This would be a massive failure.

Absolutely.

Every single agent worth a dime knows (1) we're desperate and (2) we offered Ty Simpson $6.5M. They will hold out.

Seems like some of the board police posters can’t take people discussing the portal.

Maybe stay off the portal board and let the conversations carry on…

I'm with you on the portal. They dont approach it with urgency. With his recruiting pedigree we should have players entering with no contact tags instead of fighting with Pitt and whoever else about their QB. I understand we have a Natty to get ready for so he's getting a pass from me no matter the outcome. You never know if you'll get the chance to be in this position again

Safe to say we overplayed our hand this cycle. QB competition on the way. Maybe it’ll be good for us long term and we can win 8 or 9 next year.

Let’s win this natty Monday and I think we’ll all be okay lol
