Mendoza is good but hes only thrown more than 25 passes in a game 5 times. He throws for around 225yds a game. Against Iowa, psu, osu, big physical defensive teams, hes barely above 60% and avg 200yds 1td 1 int. They run the ball really well with nearly 2 1000yd rushers and run a scheme that is qb friendly. Im not some huge bailey guy, but bailey could put up some big numbers if you extrapolate what hes done at ncst and came to miami with the way he wouldn't be asked to carry the team. Hand off, sit behind a massive OL and pick your spots.

Difference is Mendoza has shown the capability to make just about any throw you ask him to. Consistently able to throw to the sidelines from the opposite hash, deep shots, back shoulder throws with near-perfection. If they wanted to throw more and put up gaudy numbers, they easily could have at times this season

Who knows, maybe Bailey does take that kind of step forward, but I just haven't seen the same kind of ability with him. (But again, he could definitely be decent here, good enough for us to win against most of our schedule)

The thing that really helps 2016 is the early commitment of QB Jack Allison. QB's usually stick and with him in the bag, the skill guys are gonna wanna play with him. Now if we can get Gibson somehow this year then this class might get decent. Irvin and Johnson I think are coming but ya never know.

Could careless bout him being a star......but the narrative of if he wasn’t from Miami he wouldn't even be on the Canes radar is played out!!

How? The staff hasn't prioritized him TWICE. He's clearly low down the board - we've seriously pursued two QBs who have had season ending injuries before him.

If they wanted him, there was plenty of time to lock him up quietly. Now the entire process is down to the wire and the pickins' are slim.

Miss me with they think so much of him. Only this board does. Anybody else who was the QB for NCST would be off everyone's radar.
