You could play that game with quite a few QBs, not just Bailey. It's a pretty big leap to hope/suggest Bailey could take the kind of step forward that Mendoza has

But ****, at this point bring him in, if he's even actually interested. I'm not going to disagree that he would be better than rolling with Emory/Nickel. Maybe Coleman can put on 40 pounds this off-season lol

Mendoza is good but hes only thrown more than 25 passes in a game 5 times. He throws for around 225yds a game. Against Iowa, psu, osu, big physical defensive teams, hes barely above 60% and avg 200yds 1td 1 int. They run the ball really well with nearly 2 1000yd rushers and run a scheme that is qb friendly. Im not some huge bailey guy, but bailey could put up some big numbers if you extrapolate what hes done at ncst and came to miami with the way he wouldn't be asked to carry the team. Hand off, sit behind a massive OL and pick your spots.

Difference is Mendoza has shown the capability to make just about any throw you ask him to. Consistently able to throw to the sidelines from the opposite hash, deep shots, back shoulder throws with near-perfection. If they wanted to throw more and put up gaudy numbers, they easily could have at times this season

Who knows, maybe Bailey does take that kind of step forward, but I just haven't seen the same kind of ability with him. (But again, he could definitely be decent here, good enough for us to win against most of our schedule)

D$ and pete on the podcast today were talking up CJ bailey and how he should get voer being snubbbed in high school. They also mentioned him squeezing a little more from us now

Seems to me Bailey is our guy and since he has the leverage hes gonna get as much $ from us as possible before signing.
