Why did Demond Williams go back and how does this situation differ from that one? Also why does Thamels tweets seem so meh in regards to Mensah but tweets about Demonds situation was much worse

This is the question. I don't see how Mensah's situation differs from Desmond Williams situation. UW holds Williams' NIL rights, plus a large buy-out provision ($4M was reported). This caused Williams' to return to UW as he or another school would have to come up with money to buy him out of his UW agmt plus figure out how to pay Willaims without using his NIL.

Mensah can enter the portal, but Duke seems to clearly hold his NIL rights same as UW holds Willaims' NIL rights. Duke's agmt may also contain a buy-out clause.

Presumably Mensah will want to be paid if he comes to UM. How can we pay him if Duke holds his NIL rights?
