Develop ? Brother I’m living in reality . It’s hard to add on weight to a frame like his unless you sit a year and take a shirt. He’s going into his Jr year next year. Just because I have doubts he can be an every down de doesn’t mean he can’t play 30-40 snaps a game being used in many different facets. I just don’t see him taking on 315 tackles in the run game setting the edge consistently. Maybe by year four that’s possible but he needs a lot of work to get to the weight needed. Maybe that weight never comes. Somebody like Lowe is already there and ready to go. Btw it’s ok to have diverse weapons in front 7. Not everyone is cookie cutter

It wasn’t just the talent but also the maturity that both players had. Easy to see how the team could lose its way without mature leaders on the field. It is the reason Cignetti builds his teams the way he does. Someone needs to do real deep study on this IU team. Sheesh. Just mature dudes every where.

Anyway here's to hoping he can gain some good weight and continue to be an effective inside guy.

Losing Bain and Mesidor is gunna hurt

But we lost the #1 overall pick last year and then made the National Championship the next year without him.

Just keep stacking talent on the DL. Getting Moten back would be HUGE

Also, I don’t think Lightfoot needs 20 more pounds. Now that we have a staff that puts him in position to succeed, he’s fine. If he adds 10 lbs of strength the perfect

Not even trying to be negative but it’s just hard to imagine having a better duo in the next ten years plus

Bain and Mesidor were incredible to watch and I’m sad they couldn’t win a title

If we get Wilson then we’ll still be a top unit. Mensah and better DB play will bring us back to the playoffs
