2026 DL: This is the way

I know I've had prior disagreements about adding a bigtime DE. I maintain it's what keeps us lethal.

This would match that expection:

Lightfoot/Lowe
Scott/Blount
Moten/Carter
Wilson/Scroggins

Young guys like Pickett, Charles (LOVE), Newton, etc.

But, with a 2-deep like above, opposing offenses will despise playing us.

And, that should be the simple goal. Still room left on the bandwagon and plenty of snaps to go around.
Best DL in college football if we can put it together but projections have come in for Moten to go pro -- I really really hope he stays -- he could be a top 10 pick if comes back and dominates.

Would be nice if one of the freshmen is ready to play
Lowe as a freshman is the most impressive physically looking dend we got and that includes over Bain and mesidor. It’s crazy to say but it is true

It would not surprise me the least if Asharri Charles will make his way into the rotation.
Like I said elsewhere, best HS first step I’ve seen since Colin Simmons. Not sure if he has the strength yet. Guess we’ll find out more in Spring. Also have to learn more about his work ethic. Hopefully, he got a glimpse of our freak shows in prep this week.

I watched His tape and was immediately impressed. He got some good weight on him too. The de we flipped from lsu film is really good too

Develop ? Brother I’m living in reality . It’s hard to add on weight to a frame like his unless you sit a year and take a shirt. He’s going into his Jr year next year. Just because I have doubts he can be an every down de doesn’t mean he can’t play 30-40 snaps a game being used in many different facets. I just don’t see him taking on 315 tackles in the run game setting the edge consistently. Maybe by year four that’s possible but he needs a lot of work to get to the weight needed. Maybe that weight never comes. Somebody like Lowe is already there and ready to go. Btw it’s ok to have diverse weapons in front 7. Not everyone is cookie cutter
Alot of people don’t understand what an every down dlineman means, they focus on how dominant 3&4 were as pass rushers but they were equally dominant run defenders.

Its rare to have edge rushers that weigh over 250 be that great pass rushing too. Lightfoot has everything you want but id bet lowe ends up playing more Or just as much because of run defense

This dline class is weak too
I think He can end up in the top 3 dt range with Lee hunter and Kayden McDonald . And honestly I’d take moten over all of them. He has the best get off and pass rush ability plus he destroys sh*t in the run game

We’ll see how things shake out in the future, but I suspect in this new era, teams can only win championships by having most guys max out their eligibility. Indiana will feast on teams if they just operate as nfl factories sending off their best players to the league at 21. New model looks to me like you need seniors across the board.

People refuse to view Indiana as a unique outlier, despite everything indicating that they are. Cignetti was able to speedrun a rebuild because he brought in a ton of grown men from JMU and they were able to establish the culture quickly, because they knew exactly what he expected because they had won for him before. Keep in mind, COVID guys are gone after this year, you will see a significant drop in 23-24 year old guys on rosters.

It's a lot tougher to keep building rosters of these older guys, when 1)There aren't nearly as many of them and 2)You can't get them in bulk from a previous stop, where you don't have to worry about cultural fit.

Wondering if Hetherman will stick with that under front next year without Bain. He made that possible. Not sure we how he will work that

Moten and Scott would be a scary combination, with Wilson, Lightfoot, Lowe, and Blount on the edges.

Ya’ll seen Moten toss Coogan (whos a draft prospect) hop over his body, and one arm a 220lb RB …..right on that play alone i thought we lost Moten to the draft 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣

Lowe looks like Zeus.

I saw Danielle Hunter from the Texans and I swear he looks like him. Designed by the football gods to hunt QBs
