2026 4-star RB Javian Mallory announces commitment to the University of Miami

The timing worked out with RB commit Javian Mallory (West Boca) visiting Alabama the same weekend that Miami hosts RB Jae Lamar (Colquitt County, GA). The staff will monitor Mallory while recruiting Lamar hard.

"Can Alabama make a run at Miami for the four-star out of Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca Raton?

“Alabama made me feel welcomed and comfortable the entire weekend,” Mallory said. “I was able to be myself and show them who I truly am off the field. I feel like Alabama is a school that I could go to and put on.

“I’m still committed to Miami, and that place is home, but Alabama is definitely a school I think about.”

Plan was always him and Cooper. Jae Lamar visits this weekend and is another big target.
You think 3 RB’s is a possibility for this class? I think those 3 will upgrade our room next season and force 1 RB into portal next year (Fletcher likely declares) but not sure if the staff would be that adventurous.

“One source told Bama247 that three-star Miami RB commit Javian Mallory (Boca Raton, FL) "had a really great time" on the official visit to Alabama, while Mallory also told Bama247 himself that the weekend went very well. This is a recruitment worth watching much closer coming out of the trip and a few conversations with people closer to the Miami program feel the same way. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder went in-depth before the trip on what he was looking forward to and I believe a lot of those questions were answered. Back to Miami, where he has been committed since March, this coming weekend (June 20-22) for an official visit. Alabama is the only other school to receive a trip this summer as well.”

I heard it was possible earlier in process but 2 is much more likely.
2 RBs out of HS must be the minimum from now on with 105 scholarships. No excuse to never sign 2 or 3. I have no problem getting 1 development guy or like utility guy with a 3rd spot every other year or so. Can't expect to get 3 studs in a year ...

RBs should A) Be expected to leave for NFL at earliest opportunity. B) Be expected to contribute within 1.5 years from stepping on campus. C) Should expect to lose at least 1 to portal yearly, if from losing a competition alone. No RB should be expected to stay in a program 3yrs before becoming "the guy". Bring in 2-3 yearly, and let whoever wants to leave/you don't REALLY want to keep badly go after 2 yrs

My only question is his durability. The talent is there thats no question. Was last season the only time he missed extended time for an injury?
