It's crazy to me (post-2005): the gap between our perception of our players while they're here and the eventual results in the NFL. To me it's shocking George, Restrepo, and Martinez are not NFL-caliber, but alas I guess they are not. How loaded were we actually last year? Is 10-2 even underachieving or about right?

In a vacuum 10-2 is about right and a good goal year-year. Given the circumstances it was a failure. You should see how many players GT and Syracuse had drafted.

Yes he did. Lol. It was throughout practice they tried him on ST, & he made zero impact. I get it, u think the world of X, X was a dog here, but u’re conflating college w his ability to thrive in the NFL, & that’s the fan in u.

I told ya’ll a while ago, I don’t live in the house of fairytales, & I’m not a fanatic, I’m a fan. I live in reality & the reality is X had a long road ahead of him b/c he didn’t have NFL measurable + lack of athleticism. So u can argue all u want, but u’re looking for an echo chamber that isn’t based upon reality.

Perfect candidate to get involved in the coaching ranks. Would love for him to come back to UM after he plays a couple of years on practice squads. I don’t see a world where he’s a bad WR coach. Such a technician.

X needs to lock in on punt return. If he's not returning punts, it's going to be hard for him to make a roster and get the opportunity to show his receiving skills.

X isn't a special teams player. He's strictly a slot receiver at this point. He's way too slow for punt return, especially at the NFL level. Only reason he was punt returner for us on occasion was due to his hands. He could be trusted not to muff the punt. We were (still are) so bad at punt return the last few years, they put in X just to fair catch the punt and not muff it or let it go over his head. That's how bad our punt return game has been. He's not a punt returner.

Only reason he was punt returner for us on occasion was due to his hands. He could be trusted not to muff the punt. Team's aren't wasting a roster spot on a slot only backup WR who can't produce on special teams. If he makes their practice squad he might get called up for a game or two if Locket gets hurt.

Thanks. I'm rooting for him big time, but he's not a special teams player. He never was. He doesn't have the speed or wiggle for that. It was only out of desperation that we had to use him as punt returner. If he can't make it as a slot receiver in the NFL, he's not going to have a career in the NFL. That's his calling card.
