2020 LB Corey Flagg Jr OV

Its an 11th coach. There is no other position group he can coach. Everyone position group already has a coach.

So every program has a coach who just coaches their strikers? Or nickel backs? Stop it dude.

But to get back on Earth, this isn't about Patke. It's about every coach on the defensive side of the ball, up to and including Patke, being good enough recruiters to sign stud LBs. If basically any Top 20 program had the situation we do, they'd be bringing in ELITE talent. It's a literal perfect storm...you cannot dream up a better scenario to recruit for. Get the **** job done.

Agree here, the only blue chippers we have on the roster at the LB position are Huff and Brooks (take Pinckney and Shaq out because they don't factor into recruitment this cycle). Our roster and the current depth chart scream immediate playing time as a true FR. We should be turning down LBs from coming here right now.

If we don’t get one of Flowe or Simpson we failed at LB recruiting for this year. Shaq & Mike are gone after this year & behind them are a bunch of unproven kids, if you can’t convince one of the elite recruits to come to Miami with that situation it’s a failure....we’ll see soon

Why Patke? Baker is the inside linebackers coach Patke coaches strikers. U guys just throw out names for no reason

Bc Patke hasn’t done anything since he’s been here. He coached one position and got Finley better. Wow congrats. Anybody that can focus on a single position for an entire year, better be able to make that position better. His best story on the trail is “almost” getting us Coburn lmao

Looks pretty good in that tape (highlight, after all). I suspect another inch and a half of height and he has another star and a lot more attention. Definitely gotta be some guys on the board in front of him though.

Lol almost getting Coburn. I remember that signing day. We thought we were getting everyone and only got Ezzard who transferred in a hot minute.

Undersized and not a special athlete by any means but he seems to have a nose for the ball. Texas kids are usually well coached. Still see him as a plan B kid firmly behind simpson, hypolite, and austin-cave. If we land one of those 3 then I'm ok with taking a kid like flagg.

Film looked better than I expected.

LB recruiting as been a sh*t show since Diaz arrived.

Overall agree. I do like Huff and Brooks in this last class. But I'm worried it's too little too late for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. We've had so many injuries to the position group it's hard to get a good read on who is good or not. Hopefully Steed will eventually get healthy and Joyner will step up. This class needs to have some studs who can play early in it. Otherwise we're back to the portal for a stop-gap.

Everyone missing this post because it doesn’t support the narrative lol.

The kid clearly has some talent. You don't win MVP at the Opening in Houston unless you are a quality football player. But it's undeniable that the 40 time is a concern. Just look at LB 40 times at the NFL combine. He'd be second to last with those numbers, just ahead of a kid from New Mexico State:

Devin White (LSU): 4.42
Devin Bush (Michgan): 4.43
Gary Johnson (Texas): 4.43
Blake Cashman (Minnesota): 4.50
Ty Summers (TCU): 4.51
Ben Burr-Kirven (Washington): 4.56
Germaine Pratt (North Carolina State): 4.57
Drue Tranquill (Notre Dame): 4.57
Bobby Okereke (Stanford): 4.58
Tyrel Dodson (Texas A & M): 4.60
Jordan James (Kentucky): 4.62
Sione Takitaki (BYU): 4.63
Cody Barton (Utah): 4.64
Emeke Egbule (Houston): 4.65
Ryan Connell (Wisconsin): 4.66
Cameron Smith (USC): 4.69
Joe Giles Harris (Duke): 4.75
Dakota Allen (Texas Tech): 4.77
Otaro Alaka (Texas A & M): 4.82
Jeff Allison (Fresno State): 4.82
Bryson Allen-Williams (South Carolina): 4.88
Terrill Hanks (New Mexico State): 4.98

Kids get faster once they get in a college S&C program.
