2020: Do or Die For Manny Diaz

We'll see.

Manny Diaz is a corch and is bound to fvck this up. But any functional human on planet earth wins 10+ with what this roster will look like in 2020.

But, he's a G5 coach with a G5 staff, and Miami has seen G5 talents be immediate starters on this team...yet, we're a P5 school. I fully expect him to fvck this beautiful scenario up in some way. He's never been around a championship atmosphere...I question if he knows how to win. We'll see...this is a perfect scenario for him.

But...

Corches corch, and Manny Diaz is a corch.

I agree with the OP & this.... Our 2020 schedule is ultra trash. 10 wins would show an improvement - but those 10 wins may be just as cosmetic as Richt’s 10. The entire staff is still unproven (of course) as a cohesive unit. And we still have way too many low hanging fruit corching our kids.

With that said - I’m excited about the changes that have been made. New K, DE, and QB. Pumped. Cause I’m a CANE. Excited to see Da Kang. Cause I’m a CANE. Excited to see how our OL plays under Lashee & Co.’s tutelage. Cause I’m a CANE.

But I know this - we didn’t need all of the above in order to beat GT, FIU, Duke, and LT in 2019. Not with the right Captain. With the right Captain all of the above would have been - just gravy.

Manure still doesn’t know how to prepare an entire team to play ball. That’s still our reality. Manure is on the clock. No excuses.

If he can't win BIG with this, he's even worse than I thought. This is the most talented roster any Miami team has had in years. A real, proven difference maker at QB. A proven OC that will use tempo and speed to wear teams out. A D that should feast with leads. A transfer kicker that is proven.

Someone tell me why this team shouldn't win 10 games. I swear, if we struggle again with the GTs, FIUs, and LaTechs of the world....
And 10 games should be the floor with the weak schedule.

Was losing to Louisiana Monroe a fireable offense to Alabama and Nick Saban?

Was losing to Troy a fireable offense to LSU and Ed Orgeron?

There's no such thing as a fireable offense in your first year at a college job.

And for the record, no, I'm not even remotely comparing Manny Diaz to either of those guys. But those are inexcusable losses for coaches at schools like Alabama and LSU. Just like losing to FIU is for Miami. But neither of those guys lost their jobs, of course. Nor should they even have come close to losing their jobs. Just like Manny. It's embarrassing as ****, and the lowest point in the history of the program. But all that really does IMO is burn away the safety net. A loss like that in Year 1 just gets your seat nice and toasty. In the Bama and LSU cases, it was uphill from those egregious, embarrassing losses. We'll see what happens in Miami's case. But fireable offense in Year 1 is comical.

Manure didn’t just lose to FIU. He lost to UNC, GT, FIU, Duke, and LOUISIANA TECH. I mean. Holy *****. Just type that out a few times. You’re comparing Apples to Stranger Things, man.

Manure’s ***** Show isn’t even from the same planet as those other two.

You're absolutely right. Holy cow!!! When I see the names, I think: This team should have won 10 games last year easily. We had a superior roster to all those teams and still lost. A good coach will limit the exposure of his team's weakness (i.e. offensive line) and maximize their strengths. Tjat didn't happen. Epic fail!!!

A little bit of competence - and he wins 10. Just a little. He was awful.
I hope he's a quick learner. I'm afraid we win by simply having better play makers, but not better coaching and things are glossed over. Good coaches maximize their player's abilities. We underachieve.

Besides game day mistakes, I thought Diaz handled the culture of the team poorly. The team looked lost, unprepared, and disinterested at times. That's on the HC.

One of the thing that bothered me is you never saw Diaz talking to his players during the game. The team was getting thrashed and he just stands there with the same lost blank look on his face. Contrast that with Ed O who is always working his players by cheering them on and getting in their faces when he needs to during the game. Ed O is managing the moment keeping his team focused and playing at a high level during the game. I hope Diaz takes note.

The last thing I'll say is that Diaz needs to be humble. He comes off as though he has it all figured out rather than learning from others. Great coaches never stop learning or wanting to learn. Dabo Sweeney after a 2018 natty, has his coaches visiting with Iowa State learning about thei ISU defensive scheme and incorporates it into their defensive scheme. If I'm Diaz, I take the staff to Iowa and Wisconsin and learn how the run a program. Those schools are annually in the top 20, but their recruiting classes are never better than 30th. Those coaches know how to build and sustain a program. They know how to identify players and development them. Never stop learning. That's how you become good at your job regardless of what you do.

He ABSOLUTELY needs to take the staff to meet with Iowa type staffs. He should go visit OSU* and Minnesota too. Definitely should sit with Johnson (DL Coach). But also take them to sit with NFL personnel. Lashlee and Co. would benefit from sitting with Reid. It would only enhance his approach.

I’ll never forget when Tressel came to visit with Coker after we won it all in 2001. Then we played them after they adjusted their approach to things based on what they learned in Coral Gables... and they were gifted a NC. Ughhhh.

I think Manure’s biggest weakness is his perceived “intelligence”.... because WISDOM is what he truly lacks. He needs to catch on yesterday.

When his corny wannabe ars gets the boot later this yr after talking big money **** all off season, I am roasting a pig in la caja china

• He whiffed on his first OC hire and is now on his second.
• Whiffed on Tate Martell.

• Finally kept his word a year later and actually hired a spread offense OC that runs tempo.
• His new OC coordinated a top 10 scoring and total offense in 2019.
• His transfer QB is a senior who accounted for 50 TDs, 3700 total yards, and only 6 turnovers in just 11 games the last time he played.

• The OL (which he calls an "age and experience position) are all back.
• He has one of the best defenders and pass rushers in the country in Rosseau.
• He just landed Roche to man the other side who was also top 10 in sacks and TFL.
• His schedule is a joke.

No excuses left to be made.

He has to perform now.

If he can't win big with an OC coming off a year producing an elite offense, and a plug-and-play senior QB who's regarded as one of the best in the country, he never will.

Nope, we are just on year two of a rebuild man.

Dude’s a confirmed Gator, through and through. No idea why he posts here so much

My stalker and Manny's personal ******* caddie have returned.

Glad to see you slithered back after running away in shame from the embarrassment of your uninformed, casual-fan takes all turning out to be wrong. I look forward to you littering the board with more of you horribly inaccurate football commentary before you go into hiding again.

Welcome back, ******.

Except at the one position that can kill an entire team. QB. Honestly, what could they have done with the garbage QB play we all saw? We need better QB play in the worst way, and I think we should get it with King and TVD joining the roster.

Stalk your little fakkot ***? You’re not worth it, you slimy punk.

You're the biggest gaytor homer here.

You gaytor boys are on a delusional run...enjoy it while you can, you pathetic loser, it won’t last.

How about garbage play calling, offensive line play, and no running game. Those things matter. If you think they don't, think again. King went 14/27 against Oklahoma and didn't look good doing it. His team was 1-3 before deciding to redshirt. Are you going to blame him for their 1-3 start?

What play calling looks good when your QB is too dumb to throw a Hail Mary? Bad QB play makes a shaky OL look putrid. Bad QB play makes it easy for teams to shut down your run game, because they don't fear your QB.

I didn't watch Houston play OU, but whatever happened in THAT game means nothing to the 2019 Miami Hurricanes.

And your forgot; JT4 and the FG Kicker are gone - there were 2- 3 wins right there

Stop this BS!!! The offensive line was atrocious!!! The problems of last year were not all on the QB. Thinking that King is going to solve all the problems is foolish. His skills will cover them up. Make them less exposed, but if they're not addressed, they'll be there next season and the season after that.

Problems last year were Kicking, QB and offensive line. Defense was good enough to win the coastal and lose to Clemson.
