It’s obvious he’s got some demons and Miami probably wasn’t the best fit for him. To his defense he did have some bad qbs and OC’s during his time here. But man to place the blame solely on him for that game in 2019 is crazy. Yes his muff was costly but that OL was beyond atrocious and Baxa was the worst kicker I’ve ever seen in my life.

Same I remember texting my brother after saying that game was ugly the OL sucked but I think we have a QB. He had weapons around him. Dallas, Osborn, Jordan, Mallory, Thomas.

Ol was beyond bad, its shared fault but IDK if the endzone catch was that difficult, he was diving to his right but it was a nice spiral and hit him right inbetween both hands. Henderson may have knocked it out but thats on him just needed to have stronger hands. I think Thomas or someone after (maybe coach?) said he makes that play 9/10 times and after the muff (which was bad) he needed some redemption, had the opportunity and lost it. If you watched the full 22 replay JT4 is still running wide open in that secondary and if the OL had given Jarren even a semblance of a pocket we would have hit some big plays Jarren did have a big arm.

Also I think people forget JT4 dropped that endzone pass with 9 min left in the 4th, then Baxa misses the kick (we were still up 20-17) and had them pinned back inside their own 20 and immediately the D gave up a big play and they went down the field and scored so that entire 3 play series I would say was a big cluster **** (dropped TD to put us up 27-17 with less than 9 min left; Missed FG that would have put us up 23-17 with less than 9 min left; and 70 yard pass play on the first play from scrimmage after)

I thought he was gonna be a star but obviously I didn't know how bad his personal life was. On a stable team with great leadership he might have made it. Like you said, the offense didn't fit him well either and the QBs were not great.
But man, that kid out of anyone post Shannahan was the one bust that stings.
How the eff does Manny not hit the portal for a OT!?! Those kids were not ready and going against two legit NFL edge rushers. Meanwhile Penos is calling long developing play action and giving his OL no shot. Ridiculous

That first drive with the quick screens was a thing of beauty. I was pumped after that drive even tho it ended with 3. Yea Thomas played here for 3 years and at least 80% of the time he was wide open and the qbs couldn’t get him the ball. Didn’t see him or they didn’t trust their arms. I wish he stayed for 2020 and played with King. Easily 1000 yard season.

I didn't say it wasn't winnable. We should have won it. But we didn't deserve to, they tried to give it to us, we wouldn't take it and even gave it right back.

You know how hard it is to lose a game with a 4-1 turnover margin?

I'd bet over the past 10 years, college football teams with a +3 turnover advantage have a win percentage of about 95%.

We had less total yards than them, even though we ran 11 more plays.

They fumbled on our 7 yard line on a play that we didn't even impact, they just dopped the football.
Then they fumbled AGAIN, gave us the ball at midfield, and we only got 3.

We scored to take the lead very early in the 4th quarter, and Franks drilled Amari Carter right in the chest with a pass, which he returned to the gator 25 and we DIDN'T SCORE A ******* POINT on that drive.

They threw ANOTHER pick with 4 minutes to go in the game, with a lead, on the first play of a drive, which gave us the ball down 4 at their 40.....and we immediately got ourselves into a FOURTH AND ******* THIRTY-SIX!!!!! which they gifted us a PI and we converted, and we STILL couldn't win.

Infuriating.

But we get all that **** back and then some in 9 days. On their ******* field. In their ******* house. Right down their ******* throats.

Only thing more tragic than that game was trying to leave the stadium. Backstreet Boys were performing at Magic arena and Orlando City FC had a game too…. All within 2 miles of each other. Uber/Lyft were on a 3 hour delay

The fake punt early in the game whenever everyone and their moms knew it was coming
 
My emphasis is on SPECIAL TEAMS. SPECIAL TEAMS blew it on the fake punt, the missed FG and of course the muffed punt. I am concerned when I learned Danny Kalter is our special teams coach. Please google him and notice his wealth of experience or lack of. We have talent and to have him as ST coach is scary. Urban Meyer's history is that he always coached SPECIAL TEAMS. Think about it, Danny wants Chris Johnson for punt returns. RB coach says NO find someone else versus Mario says Chris is our return guy...who gets Chris? Danny said we have 12 returners...WHAT? There are NOT 12 potential returners that are equally qualified. When JJ coached starters played on SPECIAL TEAMS, Bennie Blades was his safety on kick offs incase a returner got through the first wave Bennie was there to prevent big returns. Against fsu Bennie was sidelined for one kickoff and Tamarick Vanover ran it back for a TD, if my memory is right it was the only one all year. I want us to win and if SPECIAL TEAMS fails us again as they at Rutgers, I'll be very disappointed since Mario said SPECIAL TEAMS were a priority. Danny Kalter is not making it a priority, nothing personal about Kalter just facts.

It isn't, Blades was in the NFL several years before Vanover came along
