Would he satisfy our need for a 5 though? Looks more like a 4 to me. What we really need is a rim protector, and he didn't block many shots in the Ivy.

Isn’t this season not counting toward eligibility? I know I saw the other day it was being passed for basketball as well. Anyone know if that’s just rumors or confirmed?

That is correct. If a play wants to play college basketball again next season, he/she will have that opportunity.

As far as head coaches contacting him, he said this:

“I'd say the schools that reached out that have had a heavy interest and I've talked to the head Coaches from are Texas, NC State, Arkansas, Notre Dame Miami, Florida, Boston College, Georgia, and Oklahoma State.”

But what is he looking for in a program?

“I'm looking for a school that's ready to compete and to help me get to the next level and most importantly I'm looking for a masters program in business/finance that I feel will help me in the future after basketball”
- Paul Atkinson Jr.

Sounds like Miami has a good chance. Especially since Coach L is directly involved with his recruitment.

So is his desire for a Yale degree what is keeping him at the school (can't blame him)? Why not play this season if it doesn't count towards anything is more my point.

Yes. I don't know all of the details but I am under the impression that he will graduate in May 2021 and not December 2020.
There is a question on whether or not the IVY League will even play basketball this season so things are subject to change.
Paul is the reigning Ivy League player of the year so I am sure he wants to win the conference championship and go to the NCAA tournament in his final year at Yale.
I cannot blame him for wanting to finish what he started.

Don't think the ivy league is gonna play this season, and if they do several teams are rumored to be sitting out.

I heard that also. If they do cancel the season and he graduates in May then I believe he would have two years of eligibility instead of one.
