2018 will be a transitional year. But 2019 is a legit run for the NC.

In the years that we were irrelevant, programs like Texas tech, Boise state, USF, Niu, Oregon, northwestern, tcu, FAU, ole miss, Iowa ,even ******* Hawaii have had better poll finishes

11-1, ACC Champs is the goal in 2018. No way I’m accepting another defeat to Clemson this year. That’s our rivalry game outside of FSU.

Need another top 10 class in recruiting to be a championship team.

Not enough talent and too much talent imbalance on the roster to make a run. Possibly playoffs but recruiting needs to significantly pickup for the 2019 class for us to be championship material

Need a top 10 class every year. And for national championship contention some of those classes need to be well inside the top 5.

Look at how much ground Michigan gave up to Ohio State last season, according to the 247 rankings. The Buckeyes had 3 five star players, 20 four stars and only 3 three stars. Contrast to Michigan with 0 five stars, 7 four stars and 12 three stars.

That class alone separates the programs, and they were hardly equal to begin with. It's the same reality the Canes face every year. Otherwise we're relying on the always-wonderful outlier result, which is not sustainable anyway:
