We have some good top line players. Ford is a huge talent. Expecting a lot out of him.

The entire defense is stacked.. If Diaz can't field a consistent elite top 5 defense with this roster he needs to be the main defensive coach fired.

Losing DJJ and Young really hurts. Add them to the mix and there aren't any depth issues. Agree about needing to add another DL. I'd personally take the best player possible knowing they could always have Bethel slim down a little and shift back out to end.

Stacked? LMAO Yes there are some great players on this defense but not enough. You're telling me you don't see the glaring depth issues on that depth chart? We have probation era type depth across the DL. We have no proven quality depth at LB whatsoever. Steed and Joyner are definitely quality but neither of them has taken a college snap yet. We were 6 scholarship DBs short last year and we lost 2 in Delaney and Young making us 8 short before counting any 18 kids. We add some very good players at CB and Safety. We signed 5 DBs still leaving us 3 short of optimum numbers. Of those 5, 4 can play CB(Hall is a pure S) but only 2 are ready to contribute as freshmen(Frierson and Ivey).

Hall has the ability to contribute right away at safety but how much PT he gets this year is anyone's guess with Redwine and Johnson being seniors and Carter and Smith showing promise as freshmen last year. My point on the DBs being that while we addressed the glaring need at CB, the kids we signed may not be ready to make an instant impact. We also addressed our lack of speed and athleticism at safety but our elite Free Safety prospect Frierson will most likely be forced to play CB right away due to our lack of depth there. Blades and Bethel need time to develop.

I already think Bethel should move back to DE since we have Odenigbo, Ford, Willis, Nesta, Miller. It becomes an easy call if we add Sterling Johnson.
