2017, who do you start at DE?

I think this year one of these guys steps up to be the MAN on D. Im talking multiple strip sacks etc. Actual game changing plays you want out of a nasty D line.

Can't really go wrong there either. We definitely have some good depth.
 
lol someone said Demetrius Jackson will leave if he has a good year next year? Lol WTF is wrong with you people? I love Demetrius but he's not ready for the NFL and if everyone is healthy I highly doubt he starts next year but he will play a lot for sure. And he's not moving to DT.

Joe Jackson was a really good pash rusher but the DE position requires more than just rushing the passer. The first thing on defense that you want to do is stuff the run and Chad along with Trent are really good at stuffing the run.

You can do a lot of things upfront with the versatility of Trent by dropping him off in coverage. Both Chad and Trent will be playing on Sundays so there is no way a DC would not utilize them.

The thing is joe Jackson was in the backfield on run plays and passing plays. He did it all. I agree if any de not named chad Thomas or joe Jackson should start then it would be Trent Harris. Definitely him over djack
 
DJack seemed to be hurt all the time. He's a nice player but lacks the fast-twitch muscle fiber necessary for being a great pass rusher.

Obviously, our leader in sacks should start at one of the DE positions, but I agree with the other one as well on one condition...

Chad HAS to take this off-season seriously and go the extra mile to becoming both physically and mentally ready to become an elite player. If this means laying off the music for a while so he can fully focus on being an elite DE (and it probably means that) then it's a sacrifice he'll have to make. Otherwise, Kool will have someone else ready to take that top spot.

Maybe Chad doesn't care about his football career and this is irrelevant, but I truly hope he does want to become elite and if so, then he needs to put in the time and effort.

Our DL will be elite next year regardless, but if Chad puts in the time, effort and sacrifice, then barring an injury, his play could elevate us to NC level DL play. Anyhoo, here's hopin'!!

Djax get off is nasty. He is probably faster off the snap than anyone on the dline. He def has qualities of a good to great pass rusher.

He can def. make an NFL check

Harris is better than Chad as of now. I think he's viewed as more of a solid, nothing flashy type player but he was very disruptive at times last year. He's plenty capable of blowing up plays.

Chad had 4.5 sacks 10.5 tfl 30 something tackles
Djack only 2.5 sacks 6.5 tfl
 
I know this comparison gets made all the time but DJack kind of reminds me of Baraka Atkins.

He doesn't seem nearly as twitchy and quick as his twin brother Joe.

Chad played a lot of games with a broken hand like Harris as well. Another thing that doesn't get mentioned is the fact that chad makes a bunch of plays that force tfl that aren't on the stat sheet either

Trent did not bring production every game. Go back and put the games on. Chad was a 5 star by one site. He was or is not a 5 star player.

You claim chad disappeared for stretches yet he was still more productive than all the other DEs except joe. So what does that say about the other guys?
