South Carolina? Now I know the kid is ****ing stupid. Look what Spurrier did to Lattimore, that was a gat **** shame. He'd consider going to a school that will leave him with a permanent disability than to come here and play with a stable of running backs? Do these kids not watch the NFL? We had 4 guys all have 7+ year NFL careers and multiple pro bowls between. Do your homework son.

Not sure if serious.

That's an Ari Gold pitch if I ever heard one.

Its not even about wanting the kid or not..its about his mentality. People face all types of uncertainty in their life but your willingness or unwillingness to face that uncertainty, look it into its eyes and beat the breaks off of it is the response all of us Canes fans are looking for. Our team has been faced with uncertainty for how many years now..? We gotta recruit and get the kids who know the U is the place for them and the ones who understand strong healthy competition is how we'll bring it back.

Seriously why would the kid be scared? I remember some saying Dexter was scared and then we added Scarlett and now he seems as committed as ever and reaing this seems like Ice becoming the rbs coach now is in his head heavy and tbh I dont blame him. It's almost like competing against the coaches son because Walton is Ice's guy so I can understand the worry especially when there are 3 other guys with him so it's understandable

Yea some of you dont want this kid SMH

We all want the kid, but it's no fault of anyone in green and orange if he doesn't come here. What can we fans really do besides say oh well and move on. Hopefully he sticks, competes, and turns into a great RB at the U.

Can someone explain to me what he is expecting to hear from the coaches and what difference (if any) it would make to how his career is shaped at the U?
Other than, you will get a fair shot to compete, get better, earn your playing time at the same time preserve your body for your professional career...............what else the coaches supposed to say?

Well the coaches I feel really would like to keep D. Williams, Scarlett, Walton is Ice's guy and if he does actually reclassify he's staying... he doesn't like competition... but he's looking at yhe depth chart knowing Duke may stay and extra year... he'd be competing against Duke, Yearby, Gus, Williams, Scarlett, Walton, and himself.... thats 6 guys and in all honesty barring injury its only enough carries for 3 backs... he's not looking at year 2, 3, or 4.

I still want him in this class and think he is handling his business logically.

I see no difference in the OP from an update a week or so ago where it was made clear that he and his family were going to sit down with Al and staff to discuss exactly what was going on. That makes sense from both sides. This whole thread just seems like the sky is falling, when it appears to be where it was yesterday.

Some of you are full of it. The kid is smart for handling it like this. Three backs in his class and if his ultimate goal is to get to the league then he has every right to think this over.. Especially at a time when running backs are barely making money anymore. Kid is doing what's best for him.

Would hate to lose him but just seems like a matter of time. Hope I'm wrong.

From a fans point of view. ..give me the best 3 at every position. . my team is deep and competition will make everything better... as a parent I want my kid on the field...its a natural desire. .. there is a relationship between Ice and Walton...I'm sure Ice is a professional and will put the best pieces on the field to win or he wouldn't be where he is...BUT there will always be a cloud of doubt about fair or unbiased competition...even if Walton won the job fairly...that cloud still will be hanging overhead. ..it will be uncomfortable situation for all parties involved... I could even see Walton not getting the job because the competition was too close and Ice would be concerned about appearing bias. That would be unfair for Walton. Mark Richt told me he didnt offer his son that played QB for the same concerns...both kids are studs and I want them both as a fan. ..but as a parent I want to help my child to make a decision that's in his best interest. These guys are warriors neither is afraid of competition...If Miami offeted 5 Ilbs for 2016 it wouldn't phase Shaq he would be like I'm gonna have some really good back ups...but I would be concerned and would direct him to the best choice

Would rather see interviews with our remaining 2015 targets or even the lesser known commits...Unless something drastic changes, Cronkite and Walton shouldn't even be interviewed, lol. What is Merrick looking for at U day? C. Davis is committing 2 days after U day, who leads going into U day? Did the few days with uncle Irvin help Tim out with the recruiting process? ****If Valentine and Scarbrough dont qualify, do we recruit them again after juco, LOL!

[]_[] still the man Tito!

Your son is a true Cane! 100%

As for Cronk. I like Cronk, hope he sticks. Think it will really come down to how him and his family feel after they talk to the coaches. Kid does love the U so we'll see.

He and Walton seem to have the same skill set at RB IMO. check it out for yourselves...
