As it stands right now, this class is super ******* average. Gotta close big if we wanna take that next step...

A lot of evaluation guys in this class, but I'm not going to discount guys just because they haven't received much recruiting hype.

I don't look at the tape of any of these commits and say, "no way that guy can play here," but it is nice to have the validation that comes along with the star system.

Take a guy like Gosier, that guy is a ******* talent, but has only played one year of ball. Or Geron Christian who took a year off to play basketball and has just light experience on the oline. The coaches seem to struggle to bring in guys lately with hype, but I can't fault them for going out and finding talent that is not hyped.

My thoughts on this class thus far are pretty much the same as what I posted on the previous page a couple weeks ago.

The current RB haul is an obvious A+ grand slam. Pete's blurb about Dexter Williams in the latest edition of The Work sounded far more optimistic than previous rumblings that there was no chance he'd stick. Scarlett's apparent interest in UM makes things even more intriguing, especially if there are any issues with Walton reclassifying.

But outside of RB and Charles Perry, this class continues to lack elite headlining talent, which is far and away the most important aspect of recruiting. Lawson, Archibald, Gosier, McIntosh, and Patchan are obviously very nice gets as well. But we're going to need to finish strong at several spots, including WR and DB, where the in-state talent this cycle is plentiful and we need to close on elites (flipping Lewis from UF and/or Cole from FSU would be enormous). We could also use some upgrades along the OL and it goes without saying that we're all hoping for much-needed DT help.

By this time next week, we may have as many studs committed for 2016 as we do for the current class. That's pretty astonishing, though fortunately there's still plenty of time left to reel in more blue-chip talent.

It's a real nice class right now. Can't complain. But would be sorely disappointed if we don't pepper in some of those more highly regarded, elite recruits down the line.

I'm getting nervous about this class, it seems like time after time classes are set up perfectly every year in UM's favor but we just can not capitalize. One main issue is the offers we send out to certain recruits. It kills me when I see our fan base bashing any recruit for committing and wanting to be apart of the U. It's not the players fault he committed but it's the coach whom gave him that offer to begin with. Second, where is the creativity with this staff when recruiting players. Coaches like Urban, Saban, Franklin, and Richt thrive in creativity. If it wasn't for tradition and location, we would be screwed. The coaches need to add other elements and I guarantee their would be drastic change in a positive way. Also a big concern I have is our official visits. I hope it wasn't true when a recruit mentioned they went bowling smh.

If we all can accept the fact that all the major schools violate NCAA rules on a constant basis in regards to recruiting, then it is easy to understand why we have a tough time with national recruits.

We cannot pay recruits or their families. No alumni jobs for a recruit's parents. No 1$/month leases for Escalades. No weekly envelopes.
No wild orgies with school "hostesses/pole dancers."

We are on probation. Any major violation and we do get the death penalty.

Loved that Sports Illustrated article on Oklahoma State where boosters walking down the aile of the team bus handing out stuffed envelopes.

We tried all the good stuff and got busted, and not being able to bribe 17 year old 5 star recruits and their families, is our real penalty.
Puts us on a very uneven playing field with every top program in the country.

How are Miami coaches not creative? What exactly are they doing that you consider to not be creative? What specific elements need to be added? How are the other coaches you listed being creative?

We have 18 committs and only 2 from dade, tough to get back to the top with this ratio.Last year it was a little better and I believe we signed 3 in the 2013 class.
