Tend to agree with Duke being the biggest recruit since Gore. Kid could have gone anywhere he wanted and he stuck to his commitment even in the face of the NCAA sanctions and then went out and helped get T. Howard.

I would say Duke and Chickillo were as important as any of them, maybe more important than Gore. Even if they both make limited contributions on the field ala Gore who was badly hurt and left early, there is direct evidence that their decisions to attend Miami caused other big time recruits to come to UM. More than any two kids I can remember of the top of my head, and at an incredibly critical time.

Alonzo Highsmith should be included in this discussion too if we're talking all time.

Good call bomb. Chickillo is underrated a bit on his importance but he gives you a lot more then you see in the boxscore. He is going to make people work, you can't teach that kind of work ethic.
