2009 Team had more heart than 2014

In 2009, popular opinion was that our team was soft. Spongebob Squarepants and all that. In fact other than Damien Berry and Sean Spence I can't think of one dude on those teams there boards would have labeled as "grimey" at the time.

Bottom line: win and it doesn't matter what the **** you do, people will love it.

09 was probably our best team since 05. They were younger than 2014. But I don't think 2014 had more talent. Duke would have started on that team and maybe Flowers. I don't know if anyone else would have started. Dorsett would be in the rotation. Our linbackers were good as well... They pulled out a lot of close wins and with the exception of the VT game every game in 2009 came down to the wire... Majority of our playmakers were either freshmen or sophomores. With the exception of Clemson and UNC were only blown out by VT in the "monsoon" and we lost 2 Wisky in the bowl by 6 points. We couldn't stop their tight end and we couldn't connect on big plays...

I remember we had a brutal schedule against 4 straight ranked teams to start the season and people expecting us to start 0-4. We went 3-1.

I respected that team

Master let the dogs out for 3.5 games then tied em back to the tree. I don't blame the players for any loss this season. Divide and conquer? Nahh.

DP?

LOL! That "its too cold to play" Citrus Bowl against Wisconsin was a real Willis Reed type performance.

How about that gutcheck teamwide quit against Clemson at home (the game that made dabo Sweeney) or losing to UNC?

Lotta inspirational moments.

if it wasnt for mark stinking whipple that team would have been a real problem.

If randy had fisch we would have been good by now!

DP is great but I think Cmac, Spence and Dsharp would have started over him. They were also better in coverage. Spence was injured that year but as a player I think Spence was a little bit better than DP.

Very disappointing losses but that team showed promise with a group of freshmen and sophomores. Clemson and UNC had two of the best defenses in the nation and we shot ourselves in the foot. That team was clearly the best team we had since 05.

Jesus Christ. We so ****ed right now that people are honestly remembering the 2009 team like it would dominate this team? I don't think I can even blame anyone for going full ******. After having to watch these morons run this **** show of a program, I'd actually be more surprised if there weren't any posters going insane.

I can agree with this. With a better, more experinced coach the 2009 team could have made some noise. Same with the 2010 team. Those teams had some players. Coaching was an issue.

Nobody said they were dominate. Some just think they were better than this 2014 group.
