Manny deserves plenty of criticism but his understanding of game strategy has been very sound recently. His use of time outs is very good. The decision to go for 2 was outstanding. I'm sure it had 0% to do with Baxa.
Contrast to the opener when I thought we should have gone for it a couple of times instead of settling for field goals. It remains to be seen if Diaz has wised up in those scenarios.
Coker was the worst in terms of advanced strategy. There were 2 or 3 seasons in which he led the nation in punting from inside opponents territory, and especially inside the opponent 40. I was going bonkers in Las Vegas. This was with an incredibly talented team and often as huge favorite, yet Coker would played scared and punt.
