I was at the game and have not watched a reply.

Has there been an explanation as to why we went for 2 down a TD ?

God it worked and that ticks you off. With defense and an XP you win.

If the 2XP is made, a team with a normal kicker has a chance to win it with a TD.
If it's not made, you try for the 2XP on the next TD.

Baxa has had 2 XP kicks that I would consider "pressure" kicks.
1 to tie the game vs UNC late in the 3rd, and last night.
The young man is 0-fer on XP kicks.

It was the right call

Baxass is possibly the worst kicker in America on all levels right now. Honestly should never have the kicking team out there for the rest of this season

You go for two because if baxa had made his kick miami is up and when Baxa missed that kick you could feel and see the soul sucked out of the team and stadium. It's crazy to think that if miami had a real kicker we could 5-0 or 4-1 and be talking about how diaz is the second coming of god but instead we want to fire everyone

Manny deserves plenty of criticism but his understanding of game strategy has been very sound recently. His use of time outs is very good. The decision to go for 2 was outstanding. I'm sure it had 0% to do with Baxa.

Contrast to the opener when I thought we should have gone for it a couple of times instead of settling for field goals. It remains to be seen if Diaz has wised up in those scenarios.

Coker was the worst in terms of advanced strategy. There were 2 or 3 seasons in which he led the nation in punting from inside opponents territory, and especially inside the opponent 40. I was going bonkers in Las Vegas. This was with an incredibly talented team and often as huge favorite, yet Coker would played scared and punt.

Manny used his timeouts in the 4th quarter a lot earlier than most coaches do. And it worked out. He started taking timeouts with over 6 minutes remaining in the game.
