This thread has brought to light a topic that needs to get settled: What is the pro-Diaz nickname?

you can have Jeff Thomas back and lose Mark Richt, would you have believed it?

What a turn of events. Never seen anything like it..

Now, Im the biggest JT4 homer on the board, but this is on him now to resurrect his career and make this work. His contract year is coming up and there are already major questions about his attitude and stability He owes it to this program, Manny and himself to make this work. I'm excited for him and this second chance but also cautious as they move forward. But make no doubt about it, with the Enos Electric Company coming to UM, JT can have a huge campaign. I spoke to Jeff for about 3 hours yesterday while playing Atari 2600 through my rotary phone and we discussed this at length( ahem, cough cough)

As for Manolo, his savagery level is off the charts and Im astounded by how he's making things happen early on. This isn't to crown him, just yet, not a single down of football has been played under his direction but it's clear he 'gets it' on many levels that Richt simply couldnt or wouldn't

But these roster upgrades are eye-opening and he actually has me intrigued about what he might pull off on signing day

Yeah, the prehistoRicht era seems so distant, now

@k9cane, after watching that ****show in December, I was at my wits end. I, Like what @RVACane said, another 2 years and then HOPEFULLY we can start turning the corner. I'm 48, I was thinking well.....when I'm 52 maybe we will have a decent team..LOL, this mf'er had me setting my life up in a 5 year increment. But God is great, and no offense to Richtirement, thank Christmas Baby Jesus he decided to resign. That day alone, for ME, is up there with Foldens firing!!!

Two months ago, if you’d said we could get rid of richt, i’d have considered it exciting!

All the rest is gravy.

Honestly can't remember last time I was this excited about the program. Still a ways to go but what has transpired lends some hope to the hopeless. We were seriously on life support in my opinion. Manny the resuscitator!!!.

it wasn't an either or. frankly 2 months ago I just wanted him to fire his offensive line coach and find an legit oc. Thomas quit on team I love Thomas talent but he was kicked/quit for a reason. and no it wasn't pastor richt **** people get on him for it was because he wouldn't do his punishment when given it and quit once sat for 2 series that's he quit going to practice meetings because was benched for 2 series. now im glad got Thomas ack talent wise but this k id had this kind of issue in hs not a new thing. frankly if richt had been willing to hire enos as his oc id of been fine with richt back but he wasn't so he retired

Im glad it turned out that both happened...

That's exactly how I felt. When the blowout started I was thinking that this could be Richt's Clemson game but i figured we were stuck for another 1-2 seasons...then Richt quit and didn't force the buyout issue. Now all this. It's hard to believe that someone is actually making the kind of moves we want.
Yeah man I had resigned myself to having a horrible 2019 on saturdays already. Our recruiting class was trash. Just horrible.

I don’t know what Manny is going to be like during game week and on Saturdays. Probably a little sloppy. Might have a really tough beginning. But he’s shown he’s willing to flip the table over and blow it up to get better. I can dig that.

Manny does seem to have the savage, win-at-all-costs attitude that you need to win: firing the offensive staff he worked with for years, demoting his own guys (Banda & Patke) and bringing back JT4. He seems to put winning above everything else, which we've really missed with our last hires. Hopefully the X's and O's, game management and roster management match his apparent dedication to winning.

I have always been a big Jeff Thomas fan.

I also believe he was not just the best player on offense last year, but the best player on our entire team last year. Kid is that good.

That **** Onside kick vs UVA took the life outta me, I watched every snap of every game after that but from that point on I was completely out of it.

I'm really excited how quickly Manny came in & did demolition on this program & I'm looking forward to seeing how he continues to build this thing up. The quickness & aggressiveness with which he's made all these moves lead me to believe it's a bunch of stuff he'd been contemplating the whole time he was DC under Richt.

It feels like he was just sitting back doing his job handling the Defense, but in the back of his mind was probably shaking his head at just how fckin burnt out Richt was.

Remember in one of the post practice pressers during the losing streak, he basically took an open shot at the Offense & how the Defense was holding up their side of the ball, that let me know he really was done with Pastor Rich. I truly believe he took the Temple job because he just couldn't sit back & be quiet or comfortable anymore being on Richt's retirement cruise.

The fact he came back as soon as he could & told Temple to fck off shows he's been eyeing taking the HC spot since 2017.

Just him bringing back JT4 to me says a lot about how that side of the ball was being run on every level.
