Not stand Mario is succeeding. Thanks for pointing some out.
Sark is in year 3 at texas
TCU was a stable program with an extremely veteran team last year. I mean Patterson was there forever. Great year 1 with his players and now look where they are
Washington got an NFL transfer QB and had stability with Peterson for 11 years. Clearly maimi doesn’t even have an nfl QB. I blame Mario but you see my point.
Kiffin is in year 4 at Ole Miss. he doesn’t count
Tenn had a good year one with a 25yr QB transfer. See the trend here with QB’s. Now Tenn is starting to struggle this year.
Duke is 6-5 haha why do ppl keep bringing up Duke as some major turnaround.
Oregon is Mario’s roster plus a old *** 5th he QB who was a 5 star I believe so kind counts for Mario.
You didn’t really make a point. Year 2 not many are succeeding at high levels outside of lanning and then Brohm with Louisville who has played no one this year.
Yes Mario has failed to date I will agree but 95% of coaches in year 2 have. The only way to change quickly is hitting an nfl QB in the portal. Miami hasn’t done it yet.
R u fcking kidding me? Lmao
Thank u 4 for being a conscientious member of the benevolent imbecile crew.
No the FCK not, 95% of coaches have failed in year two.
Brian Kelly: inherited a
6-7 LSU team:
Went 10-4 in yr one, making it to the SECCG
Currently 8-3 as the #15 team in the nation
(3 losses: #5 FSU, #13 Ole Miss, #8 Bama)
Kalen DeBoer: inherited a 4-8 UW team
Went 11-2 in year 1
Currently 11-0 in the PAC-12 CG & in CFP hunt
Jon Summerall: inherited a 5-7 Troy team
Went 12-2 year 1
Currently 9-2 year 2
Brent Venables: technically inherited a 11-2 OU team
Went 6-7 year 1
Currently 9-2 in year 2 and #13 in the nation
Jerry f’ing Krill: inherited a 2-10 NM State team
Went 7-6 year 1
Currently 9-3 year 2 (just beat Auburn)
Rhett Lashlee: inherited a 8-4 SMU team
Went 7-6 year 1
Currently 9-2 year 2
You wanna talk about Kiffin?
Year 1: 5-5
Year 2: 10-3
I’m not going to even include guys like Lincoln Riley who inherited a 4-8 USC team, Sonny Dykes who inherited a 5-7 TCU team, nor will I remotely get in to the fact that Lanning completely flipped Mario’s roster and is having more success w/ his own players in year 2 than year 1.
****, I won’t get into the fact Mike Elko currently has a better 2 year trajectory over Cristobal despite not having ANY previous HC experience or the fact he took over a 3-9 Duke program. I’m not even including coaches who have taken over perennial sub .500 programs & have made them bowl eligible, which are high accomplishments by their standards.
There’s not one coach who has failed more based upon a team that’s inherited (7-5), resources given, salary, roster, schedule, than Mario Cristobal. He’s been an absolute train wreck of a hire, “thus far.” He could very well become the greatest HC in our history by next yr, & I still won’t throw him to the wolves until I see yr 3; BUT, u’re being disingenuous af trying to throw out a statement that’s completely false to excuse or justify the bull chit happening thus far.
And for the “technically” crowd who’s championing close losses; since when did we start providing cookies and cool points for close defeats?
-So I guess in 2004 we were “technically” Nat’l Champs since we only lost by 3 to UNC, lost in OT to Clemson, & only loss by 6 to a top 10 team, huh?
-So I guess in 2006, we were “technically” a 11 win team, huh? U know, since we only lost by 3 to a top 15 FSU team, we only lost by 7, 7, & 1 to back-to-back-to-back top 25 teams, huh?
-Maybe I need to rethink how Shannon, Golden, & Diaz were here since we’re now crowing Mario for keeping us in close games.
I literally can’t believe the fan base I was once so proud of b/c of how confident we were, are now slowly but surely becoming pussified, not wanting or expecting more.
