Yep. Hopefully in 2025 Mario will have the talent to beat GT and the rest of the murderers row they face.
Mario won at Ohio State. Apparently he has the capability of winning games.

This will be a fun thread. Here’s the answer to your slurpism + lack of college football knowledge.
Brett Venebles
Year 1: 5-7
Year 2: 9-2 (losses to #7 Texas, #23 Oklahoma State)
Mike Elko
Year 1: 9-4
Year 2: 6-5 (*Lost starting QB after beginning year 6-1, key wins include Clemson and NC State)
Dan Lanning
Year 1: 10-3
Year 2: 10-1 (loss to #4 Washington)
Kalen DeBoer
Year 1: 11-2
Year 2: 11-0
Brian Kelly
Year 1: 10-4
Year 2: 8-3 (losses to #4 FSU, #7 Alabama, #13 Ole Miss)
Sonny Dykes
Year 1: 13-1
Year 2: 5-6 (lost 11 starters + slew of contributors from his Natty team)
Rhett Lashlee
Year 1: 7-6
Year 2: 9-2 (7-0 in conference)
Marcus Freeman
Year 1: 9-4
Year 2: 8-3 (losses to #1 Ohio State, #10 Louisville, @Clemson)
Billy Napier
Year 1: 6-7
Year 2: 5-6
Joey McGuire (Texas Tech)
Year 1: 8-4
Year 2: 6-5 (also lost his starting QB for a fair portion of the year)
Mario Cristobal is performing like Billy Napier. Not even accounting for first-year coaches like Jeff Brohm (10-1).
I feel sick.
You’re right. Mario is Kirby Smart mixed with Nick Saban and a dash of Ryan Day.Why? That list shows a bunch of teams who all had recent success. I'm still waiting for the coach who came in and turned a program around by year two and then continued to have long-term success.
Look at the top of the rankings. It's the same established programs year after year. The one team up there that required a rebuild is Florida State, and their guy was 5-7 in year two.
And he won Rose Bowls and conference championships, but I don’t think anybody questions whether or not he was able to win some games earlier in his career.Mario won at Ohio State. Apparently he has the capability of winning games.

Just give him the full decade, we’ll get to 9 wins eventually.

I think you’re the one that has the reading comprehension issue.Actually, I didn't bring up Mario. That's your 3rd grade ability to read a post and respond accordingly.
Try reading it again, and then show me the coaches who have turned a program around by year two and then had long-term success.
Can you analyze football without writing "haha" in every sentence?Stop saying elko. Duke sucks this year.
Kelly brought in a top transfer QB. That’s the key with any of these teams. Same with Washington. Both had/have more talent than Miami in key spots. Ppl don’t realize how bad mannys recruiting was.
Lincoln has been terrible this year with an NFL top qb haha.
You’re reaching.
Mario has underperformed. Period. I support the guy still because he’s the coach and I want to see him do well, but he’s not it, at least so far. It would be different if we’d had some 8 win seasons or something, but he has a losing record in the ACC and the team gets worse as the year goes on.
I think you’re the one that has the reading comprehension issue.
The thread is about coaches coming in and experiencing success in a short amount of time, and that Miami isn’t some special circumstance that needs 6 years to fix.
I provided the facts, you didn’t accept answer not because it was wrong, but because you don’t like the answer.
Some need to keep the train going (Venebles), some are improving upon what was set forth (Lanning), some are experiencing success not experienced prior to their arrival (Elko, Brohm, etc.)
And then there’s Mario, and Napier.
Which ones are actually doing great?
Everyone complaining about Mario please show me better coaches who took over **** rosters doing well in?
Louisville is 1 and their schedule is the weakest **** of all time
SMU? Who cares it’s a weak conference.
Now how many are struggling just like Mario. This is college football now. It takes a few year to turn around programs and rosters. That’s just reality.
Please share more coaches if you think of them.
people making excuses for mediocrity bc Mario is a nice guyit’s more so about PROGRESS. Miami seems to be the same team that we saw last season week 1.
Has Mario had long term success?Actually, I didn't bring up Mario. That's your 3rd grade ability to read a post and respond accordingly.

Same with Billy. The supporters of Miami blame everything else but Mario (as with Billy) and the ones that are realistically critical can point out flaws.
Everyone points out Norvell and FSU, but forget they got here because they realized after a year and a half that Taggart wasn’t it and cut bait. They always leave that part out. FSU would be a 3 win team if Taggart was “given more time”
How many 4 and 5 stars on dukes roster?Duke is 6-5 and lost their starting QB.
Miami 6-5. Their starting QB is also injured and mentally checked out. So how is Duke a success. Neither Miami or Duke are a success at the moment which is my point
