12,000 more season tickets sold then last year at this time

That's your right. That's up to you. But don't you dare call someone who is still devoted to the team and attends games a bad fan because they don't agree that burning it all down is the way to proceed. To each their own.

Consider this... the figures that they are claiming represent a 92% increase in season ticket sales. 92%!!!

I might be able to buy that season tickets are up from last year (I'd be skeptical, but it is possible considering the stadium renovations), but a 92% increase is bogus. While they may have some basis for the number (may be a timing issue as others have mentioned) this is yet another case of the University manipulating facts to push their agenda.

It is sad, but this has come to be the norm for this university. Graduating from the University of Miami once gave me a sense of pride, but, sadly, now I'm just embarrassed by the university. This is not an issue that is isolated to just the football program/athletic department, but it's a pervasive issue throughout the school.

Donna Shalala is probably the worst thing that has happened to the University of Miami, and I could not be happier that she is gone.

It's a sales pitch to try to drum up the urgency for you to reconsider your non-purchase of said product.

I agree.

We all need to strive to be more like this guy and support the players.

We should be handing out juice boxes, apple slices, and participation trophies after our defense gets skull****** and gives up 500 yards, or when we lose to Nerdy Ivy League Schools like UVA.

I never called ANYONE a bad fan. It's your privilege to go to the games and try to enjoy them. I'm just saying I can't do it anymore with the team in its present state. It infuriates me and I don't like watching teams that I know are badly coached and can't perform to the best of their abilities. I saw enough of these performances when I was a student . If the situation changes in the near future, then I'll consider attending a few games.

I did not renew my season tickets and I'm sticking to my guns. This is the first time in my life I will not be a season ticket holder. I will use that money to travel to Japan and Australia later this year. I refuse to spend a lot of money to watch our best pass rusher cover WR's. This program and coaching staff is complete amateur hour. Additionally, the lies and propaganda is insulting to the fan base. Once the new President cleans house then I'll reconsider, until then, I am done.

There's a difference between fans that are angry/disappointed, and fans that have turned against the team. Yes, many, including me, want to see some changes and improvements. However, I'm a 'Cane, grew up a 'Cane, went to school there, and no team, college or pro, in any sport, comes close to the 'Canes for my allegiance. If I lived in Miami, I'd have season tickets too.

That's very true and those are two different sub-categories. You can very easily not buy season tickets and still support the team. You can donate an equal amount of money for season tickets as just a donation if an individual isn't a local or can't go to the games. My point is fans are withholding their money and still supporting the team and that group makes up a majority of the fan base.

As far people openly rooting against the team, that probably stems from Al's douchey personality and the administration's, "Everything is fine here," attitude but that's still no excuse. Being mad is one thing. I'm just as mad as anybody but I don't want to see us lose any games even though history tells me I should expect it to happen. But the fans hoping the team as a unit fails should go sit in a corner and not be welcomed back into the fold.

They are lying/egregiously fudging data. They've done it before and they'll do it again. See the, "We've contributed 400 million dollars to renovating the stadium," as Exhibit A.

They probably count all the tickets they "sold" to secondary vendors.

That seems like some fuzzy *** math to me.

Last I heard, we were waayyyyy behind based off last year's numbers.

I wish I can fail at my job in every measurable way imaginable but still be unfireable because my superiors can't afford my buyout.
 
Didn't they start counting the two-ticket packages as season tix to boost the numbers?

I'm skeptical of the claim that numbers are up. Like ol' Bakas claiming scripts were up in the last days of Grassy.
