#11 and #6 looked good at LB

I get it was against Sisters of the Poor college but those two covered receivers, and stuffed rb’s.

Williams is the real deal. Harrel #20 looked good too. The G. Hall experiment needs to end. Bolden should be on a leash.

Brown and Franklin look good. They need more reps.

Clark helped the middle of the oline a lot. Gaynor was a liability, I would encourage him to move on.

At QB Garcia is the goods. TVD is more conservative but he gets the ball to play makers. We can win with either.

Brinson and company need burn. First contested catch in 3 years. For the love of God no more Wiggins and Pope.

I saw our young TE’s make crushing blocks today. Mallory experiment probably needs to end as well.
First post I have seen post game with any positivity whatsoever. Thanks for that it’s refreshing to see. We just won 69-0 and if I didn’t see the game and came on here I would have thought we lost. It sucks when you can’t even enjoy a blowout as a fan for at least a few hours. I get it, it was against a HS JV squad, but holly ***c Batman we should at least get to enjoy the win. There were some positives from today and our Canes looked like they were playing hard and having fun which has been a while since we have been able to enjoy that.

This game gave us a great opportunity to see a ton of guys on the roster in game action. I thought TVD was very effective distributing the ball to the playmakers. It was a pretty conservative performance but one that resulted in protecting the ball and a high completion percentage. Garcia reminds me a little of Vinny. He's more likely than TVD to stretch the field and air it out (which I really like). I agree with others that he has the "it" factor. It will be a heck of battle between the two. I hope we get to see a lot of both of them as that will provide a much clearer picture than any practices will. If I want to win big, compete at the highest level and have a dynamic offense to show recruits, I'd choose Garcia but I'd like to see more of both and was impressed by the good solid performance from TVD today as well.

Manny badly needs to play the best players regardless of seniority. If you play the best player at every position (and completely set aside seniority), this team does have some really good talent, will win more often and will be much more entertaining to watch. Manny needs to sell the future to recruits. He needs to market an electric offense. PLAY THE YOUNGINS AT WR. Not doing that is like pulling out your 5-wood (instead of driver) and leaving the head cover on. Unleash the hounds! Use the talent available to you or you will lose your job.

Thad Franklin could be a beast for us if he works really hard and gets into great shape. There is serious potential for him to be a monster if he works his a@@ off and gets in great shape.

James Williams needs to play more. He's special.

Sam Brooks looked good. Excited to see more of him. We badly need him to step up and take a leadership role in the LB corps.

LT needs to see at least some snaps each game and grow into a larger role. I think he's special as well.

Keep up the tackling practice. It was better today.

Get your most talented players on the field! Maximize the potential of this team for the good of the program.

You nailed this comparison: "Garcia reminds me a little of Vinny"

11 is not that good. He plays hard and effort is there, however, he has limitations ~ step slow to react and doesn't read defenses. He should be a ST's guy and a backup..

44 should be a backup too.

C. Smith, K. Smith, TAC, Brooks, Huff and Troutman should all be getting more burn than the aforementioned. Unfortunately the DC has favorites, and or is blind, refuses to see who has more talent as it would prove him wrong. Either way, DC needs to be fired for the inability to evaluate his own players and stubbornness.

True, but there is no denying that they look bigger, more athletic, and tackle better than who we have been starting.

It would be such peak Manny if he was actually sitting on a halfway decent team underneath all the slow lazy upper classmen he keeps playing.

It was fun to be there to watch the young’s guys get their first scores, and others get serious snaps. The other team was not great, but other than the lightning delay it was a solid day. No reason to over react. We have a ton of weapons on offense, the keys are the line holding up enough to get time to use them, and then calling/executing the plays to keep us on the field and scoring.

Not true at all.

You couldn't tell the WRs caught the ball? More energy? Hustle? Heart? Engagement? Coaches actually coached? Freshman class has a bright future?

You can see the talent with the young guys. They have gears, the older guys don't
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Axiomatically, when you never get punched in the mouth, your plan looks great.

100% meaningless game.

I don’t know if it was absolutely meaningless. It was a team we should beat like that but even against a team like that it’s good for the young guys getting some burn. They can show the coaches that the moment wasn’t too big for them and they can execute. For example even though we played Central Connecticut Community College Dee Wiggins still managed to drop a wide open pass whereas the young bucks caught everything thrown in their direction. If you can’t see a difference in the young WRs and what we have put out there the past few years then I don’t know what to tell you. We haven’t had receivers that compete for the ball like that since Stacey Coley/Ahmon Richards. Even though it was **** competition you could tell that these past 2 recruiting classes are built differently than what we have brought in a long time. Changing the recruiting department, putting in those protocols, and recruiting players that are winners and want to be Canes more than anything else seems to have been extremely effective. Unless it was all just dumb luck or a crazy coincidence it is hard to argue the fact that the past 2 cycles of recruits are not “Miami guys”. I could be totally off about that and only time will really tell, I just hope the young guys got some confidence without getting overly confident like we can beat anyone now. That’s when we get into trouble.

Agree with this. One thing though, Huff was active but he is rail thin. Obviously, it was just TV but he did not look like he has the frame to put in weight.

A college receiver not worried about a 4 or 5* DB knocking his head off is a lot less likely to have a case of the yips. Maybe these young guys are better, but looking good against CCSU doesn't indicate squat.

He got beat on a wheel route and easily recovered to make the tackle. Had that been Flagg or Jennings it's probably 6 points.
Yea but he aint chasing an ACC RB is what im saying, those guys were slow. Dont get me wrong Brooks got wheels but the comp was epically bad,

Everyone is going to look good vs a team like this. U can't take this game seriously or anything that happened in it.
Can VT take anything seriously from their FCS game yesterday? Can FSU take anything seriously from their FCS earlier this year?

This performance has predictive value, as all performances do.
