10th coaching assistant

Reed would be my first choice. If not him wouldnt mind Kevin Patrick if he is available dont know if Miami would pay him more then he gets at nc state. And he probably would have less control of dline here then he does at nc state.

Jethro Franklin might be available with Gruden getting hired. DMoney

Will DVD be coaching field corners as our third DBs coach?

I said something similar in one of the Army game threads but it instead involved Pat Surtain. The move I speculated about was giving The ST coordinator job to Banda and letting him recruit everywhere on Defense and bringing someone in like Pat Surtain or in this case DVD to coach safeties.

I don’t know if this has been said or not but how about Pannunzio?

Make him ST Coordinator and Assistant HC or some bull**** title.

Would rather bring Surtain or ed reed to coach safeties and move Banda to the special teams coordinator than hire dvd as an on field coach. I’m okay with bringing him in as a player personnel coach

Why don’t we bring in Golden as the 10th assistant and let him install WeFense

That would be a tough sell to Diaz, who brings Banda everywhere with him. Diaz brought him here to coach Safeties. I doubt Rick moves him.

Most of the 10th coaches being added have been on the Defensive side of the ball due to the fact most staffs have 5 & sometimes 6 coaches on the Offensive side already.

Oh St hired Alex Grinch a former DC at Wash St, Clemson hired Lemanski Hall a former NFL LB that was a Defensive analysts with them for 3 years & Bama hired a former DC from UTEP/Southern Miss.

The only offensive coach I've seen being rumored as a 10th coach is Helfrich to Texas, there could be more though because the rule starts 1/9 and a lot schools will be making hires this week.

One thing common across D1 is almost all programs are hiring coaches with legit experience on whichever side of the ball they'll being hired for. Which makes sense. These hires seem more so geared towards actually having assistants with coaching & not just glitzy crootin guys.

Richt could go in multiple directions with this his pick, I like the idea of adding DVD as quality control he did well at ASA JUCO & is a guy that could be a legit DB coach after a few years experience as a QC/analyst.

Imo we need another's pair of eyes up in the booth on Offense, but I doubt Richt hires another Offensive assistant. Really interested to see who he hires though, because this staff could use some valuable experience at that 10th spot.

Might as well start it now. Ken Dorsey just got fired by panthers.....

Would be excellent help to the O & probably a great recruiter. Shouldn’t even be a question that he’s the choice.

What makes you think he would be a great recruiter

young, nfl experience, part of the 01 team in all the 30 for 30’s. I mean it’s just a hunch. Our offensive recruiting is alright elite to begin with so it’s not like it matters.
