10th coach suggestions

I feel like Dorsey would be a good fit with the type of offense Carolina runs and he is a Cane.

John Lily is another name that comes to mind.

That would make the most sense. Let him coach TE, help with offense & recruit his butt off. Ideally Hartley needs to be nudged out & replaced with a competent ST coach.

CMR tried to hire both Lilly and McClendon, but neither accepted offers at that time. Know MClendon wants to remain close to Atlanta and family.

IIRC McClendon, Lilly, and Martinez were all discussed when Richt was putting his current staff together. I think he tried to get Mac and was turned down. Willie was fired once by Richt at UGA, plus he's a DB coach and we already have two of those (though he'd be available with UT cleaning house.) Lilly made the move to the NFL last year - don't know if he'd be willing to move back to college.

I don't see Coach Richt getting rid of Hartley, he was with him at Georgia(in a smaller role) and he's done well with the TEs. Wouldn't mind bringing in someone with an offensive background and experience coaching successful STs, would love for Ed Reed to get a call as well.

Never have been a big Hartley guy. Think he has benefited from having elite talent (JMO). Is Lilly still in NFL? I thought he did not get retained after they canned staff in the off-season. Could be wrong.

My suggestion of Martinez wouldn't be as a DB's coach, but as a ST's coach that can also help with the LB's too.

All of my suggestions are for a ST's coach that can also recruit based on who Richt might like.

If it were up to me (which it obviously isn't lol) I would like to see him hire someone to help him in game planning, not as a play caller, but just someone he can bounce ideas off of.

Just a pure lab technician X's & O's guy whose only job is to stay locked in the film room diagramming plays, finding mismatches to exploit against Defenses & giving Richt another pair of eyes up in the booth. Again, NOT a play caller, because I know he's not giving that up.

Martinez is currently at Cincy.

That's why I really like Levine. Head coach experience, worked with some prolific offenses, can really help out with the gameplanning aspect you mentioned.

Another OL assistant. This is the weakness of The U throughout all staffs. If we can get a line like Stanford, Georgia, or Bama blocking for South Florida athletes then OMG. It would be over.

Ed Reed.

Similar to how Coach Kul was an OLineman and he's a beast DL coach....I think Reed in the offensive room could bring a lot of insight

Dan Morgan as the ST coordinator and assistant LB’s coach...if we can pull him away from the Seahawks.

Michael Barrow you mean?

No, Dan Morgan. Works in the personal department and has worked there for like 4 years. Perfect guy to groom to be DC because Manny will leave soon.

Ahh, gotcha, thought you got confused because Barrow was a ST coach as well when he coached here under Shannon/Golden

He will literally be perfect....he’s the director for player personnel too. We can pay him the same thing, maybe a little more and he comes home.

I suggested Ed Reed in my comment on page 1.

But as a ST's Coach & recruiter that would also help with Defense overall. He basically did it for Notre Dame, he was with the team the whole week during preparation watching film with the DB's, sitting in on meetings & being at practice.

He's even said earlier this year there were some kids on our team & some recruits we have coming in that he would love to Coach if Richt needed him.

Said similar things after he came to Paradise, he absolutely would love to Coach for this team.

Here's my pick: PURDUESPORTS.COM - Tony Levine Bio - Purdue University Official Athletic Site

Only his first year at Purdue so it might be hard to get him to hop, but this guy is a great special teams coach and a very good offensive mind. Would be an instant upgrade at ST and could provide a lot of help with the offense in general IMO.

QB Coach has no coaching exp. prior to UM

Brown is the OC in title only CMR runs about 5-7 plays, so WTF is Brown gaming planning ?

Ron Dugans is the best offensive coach on the staff

Stacey Searels needs to be fired

TE/Special Teams needs to be fired

Play Caller CMR needs to give up play calling all together

So whoever the 10th coach will be he needs to have an offensive back ground

Are you high?
They squeezed way more out of Rosier than anyone reasonably expected and allowed him to over Perform.

The play calling has steadily imprpved and puts us in positions to win if executed on. We work around personnel and injuries well and adjust well.

Our line is also significantly better than it was.

Yall know its probably gunna be someone cheap right? Cause the way things are looking we're gunna need to give Diaz a raise in order to keep him. And we've already been spending more money on coaches this year than we ever have.

Do NOT expect to be paying over $300k for the 10th coach. So guys like Lilly are pure pipe dreams.

Secondly, we should NOT be hiring the 10th coach based on his recruiting abilities. We need a LB or ST coach, or someone that can do both.
