“This is not a desirable job”

A chronically underperforming program but still a national brand in a desirable location that is supposedly* going to begin pumping cash to assist your efforts in becoming a hero if you're remotely successful....is an undesirable job?

Get out of my face with that noise.

The people that parrot that are the Billy Cohen types that love to scream at us to just accept that our standards are too high and to understand that we're just NC State or Virginia now if we're lucky.

It's that stupidity that allows these clowns to try to install a puppet as AD under the guise of "that's the best we can get".

I’m in this camp. It’s not a desirable job today. Could it be? Yes. It isn’t right now. There is not another school in America doing the **** we are doing. Who tf would want to work here under these circumstances? We have board members leaking info to fan boards for ***** sake

If we pay big money it’s a treat job in a great city with a ridiculous talent pool and tradition.

But money isn’t everything. And who you work for can make your salary not worth the paper its printed on cause you’ll be miserable every day.

And right now the bot and the president and the infighting that’s allegedly going on makes this place not so fun to want to be at.

Lmao.

Lemme get this straight.

For this to be considered a “desirable job,” I’m assuming that you guys mean desired by top-tier coaching prospects who are already commanding solid salaries at P-5 schools. Not second-tier guys like Golden.

So if we’re only talking about dudes in the Kiffin/Mario/stoops range, why the eff would they want to leave programs where they’ve built something and are paid handsomely, to coach at a school that’s been sued by 3 of its recent coaches for breach of contract, and was recently shamed by national media for its cheapness and lack of commitment to quality athletics? Because of a couple quotes in the press about “money is no object”?

Its not desirable for big name ADs who will not have any say in football Ops.
That's a completely different dynamic that is absolutely a viable concern in attracting an AD worth his salt. But these clowns aren't citing Zo when they say it's an undesirable job. They're basically just saying the typical lazy talking points- living in the past, poor facilities, no money, blah blah blah.

Which school would you rather run?
Not sure what choices you're offering me but if Miami is paying me a legitimately competitive salary, is real about infusing cash into the program AND isn't forcing Zo on me then this is a beyond attractive job and we haven't even talked about quality of life vs a TON of ****ty college locations.

You're giving someone the chance to bring football AND baseball back and to make hoops relevant if they're just remotely competent. We still all get moist over Sam Jankovich's name. This is an excellent opportunity to become a "legend".

Being saddled with someone watching over your shoulder on football or not even getting to touch football throws a wrench into the equation. I’m not sure why football powerhouse Miami feels the need to do things different than everyone else.

Because we’re the University of Miami and are trend setters!!
