“It’s Okay to Be Disappointed With Mario Cristobal” - Oregon Writer

If Nick Saban and Alabama never came along there would be a lot of coaches whose tenure with teams would be much longer. The expectations are ridiculous. Going 10-2 on average with an undefeated season every 5-10 years should be the ceiling. Nowadays, two losses gets you fired.

If you have a chance to get into the playoffs every year then you should take that and live with it all day long.

LOL

I’m old enough to remember when we expected to play for a title every year because we in fact do that.

We are all “10 wins is good now” bros.
honestly, 10 wins will get you a shot at the title once the CFP expands. You're living in the past if you think routine 10 win seasons are a failure.

In 1990, Miami went 9-2, and the fans were furious..

The landscape of CFB has changed; the best players leave as juniors or earlier via the portal, you have scholarship limits, you have WAY more schools trying to be competitive, etc etc etc.

There also seems to be a SEVERE lack of quality coaches....if Mario left or was fired by Oregon, who are they going to get? Florida fans want Mullett gone, but who would/could they get? Almost all of the popular names have a lot of warts, so the AD is taking a chance on most anyone.

Playoff expansion would fix that.
