“Gattis sucks!”

I can’t believe we are having the same ******* conversation for 2 years in a row but with a different OC.

Please, please, can we stop this insanity??? College football offenses aren’t supposed to be this hard and we are making it rocket science hard at this program.
Dawson is the anti Gattis and it’s now almost the exact same thing

So hiring a new OC is going to be useless because there’s one common denominator

Are you really going to fall in this trap again?

This is a multifaceted issue.

The player, regardless of who it is is not always going to execute the game plan perfectly. You have to look at everything else that is being put in place to help the player be as successful as possible.

We have macro level issues...absolutely. We've had those for a long time...so much so...they do not get fixed over night. This is also not a thread to discuss Cristobal...there are numerous ones for that.

On a game to game basis, its fine to analyze a singular game or series of games or even a season without the constant referendums on the macro level issues.

Miami is 6-3. Should be 7-2 9and probably right outside of the Top 25) if not for the dumbest, most embarrassing coaching blunder on planet earth.

But we've had a QB throw for more interceptions than anyone in the entire Power 5 and has done so in the past 4 weeks...thats wildly impressive and the reality is, that QBs play isn't the head coach or OC's fault unless you want to fault them for playing this guy - which is fair but also, not the point. Look at those picks, brother. They are ******* brutal. Even the dropped INTs are ******* brutal.

We had a freshman QB...true freshman!...come in, simply not throw a (meaningful - it was at the end of the half) pick...and we beat Clemson...kicked their ***, really. Its not an absurd notion to think we're cooking with gas right now (in the Top 15) if we simply don't have a QB that turns the ball over at a P5 leading level. We saw TVD hurt last year and this year and the play is very similar, so I am not attacking him as a QB when all things are equal...he's shown he can be pretty decent when everything is right. But he's very flawed and those flaws become toxic when he's hurt (all football players have to play hurt, so its not an excuse) and mentally in it (again, we saw it last year). Couple it with his inability to make much happen when things aren't clean and we're 6-3 heading into FSU and moral is waning.

Our Ls this year aren't even that bad on a macro level. Low key an improvement over last year. Georgia Tech is 5-4 and beat UNC and might make a bowl game. UNC was 12 at the time and are at 7-2 ranked 24. NC State is 6-3, and yeah, they kicked our ***...and they kicked Clemson's *** the week prior. We've lost to above .500 teams in conference. We've gone from bottom of that ACC midcard hamster wheel to probably the middle. I don't care to discuss the degree of which we've improved...its not acceptable to me either, but idc. But as I said earlier...the most immediate bottleneck to our success seems obvious to me.

We're still a midcard ACC team on the midcard ACC hamster wheel and we're probably at the top of that hamster wheel with better QB play and a coach that knows how to take a knee.

Lad, our QB is hardly bothered to make a second read and doesn't check down. What do you want Dawson to do?

We can agree on this. The QB has been terrible. Worst I’ve seen here in a long time despite him, in the record books, being one of the better QBs statistically ever at Miami.

The INTs are a major issue. I don’t defend him for his performance. I’ve been killing TVD for a long time.

I do believe that a coach can help a player work around some of those deficiencies so he’s not a bad as he’s capable of being as a player. Hence, the coaching part and this year, unlike last year, the OC is also the QB coach.

That’s why I am saying, it’s not just a TVD issue although statistically (since it’s harder to evaluate a coach since they don’t rack up game play stats) it’s all mostly TVD.

That is all I am trying to say.

Dawson is the QB coach, no?
And you honestly think he doesn't tell him that? You honestly think he tells him "lock on the safety and especially dont check down into the flats"?

I don't disagree with you. We're cool, brother.

I know its not JUST a TVD issue. He's just, in my opinion, the most immediate bottleneck. Cristobal has one L squarely on his shoulders, so he's not absolved...I'm just trying to make a point that we can have a conversation about our team this year, look at the personnel, and not have it devolve into a Cristobal or Dawson conversation.

Well if you can't be bothered to talk, don't start one.
Ok, Bender.

It’s all TVD. It’s likely he starts this weekend so we will keep killing him.

If it’s not, just pay attention to how the game plan unfolds.

And you honestly think he doesn't tell him that? You honestly think he tells him "lock on the safety and especially dont check down into the flats"?
Probably. I'm just saying that if the quarterbacks are struggling, maybe the quarterback coach isn't doing a very good job.

Brother...I really ******* hated Gattis discourse last year. It was gross. I know you think the same.

No one was right. Like, Gattis SuX side wins because someone had to win The Great Gattis Wars...but not a single MF'r could show their work. So everybody got it wrong. Everyone looks like an ******* after that Michigan scandal came out. Man won a **** award. They had ex post facto articles written by Bruce Feldman trying to cover up that mirage year all while they were still cheating their ******* asses off and we're down here looking like a bunch of jabrones. Those two offensive staffers ended up being a (probably a pedo? idk what Weiss got fired for...) and this Moore guy is likely just another benefactor of this outrageous scheme this program ran.

Such gross discourse looking back. Too many takes had to die and they were cheating the whole ******* time. Better than fiction.

Even with the line Mario can build... recruit good QB's or die. **** diva WR's, CB's etc... get a ******* alpha sniper snaps and this year looks different. Give an average Dawson Drake Maye and we're looking forward to whooping FSU this week heading into the ACCC. We can argue why TVD sucks... and who's fault it is - but if we had a **** QB who hadn't thrown 87 pics the last 5 games the outlook of this season is totally different.

PS - Yes I understand Mario doesn't have bullets in the chamber @QB - and he should be blamed for that in year 2.

why did you hate the gattis discourse? the man has never been a good OC his entire life. hes also a trash can of a person. he was neutered at michigan after he stunk the first 2 years. he tried to lie and take credit for the offense at bama when he never called plays there. he also allegedly screwed a recruits mom. the only people who look like an ******* are the gattis is great side. also, hes being sarcastic if you didnt catch it. he doenst like gattis either, but he doesnt have mario in his ******* so he isnt afraid to say it
