Wow, Boots looked great. I appreciate that Villa was still defending himself, but this fight needed the towel. While it is lazy to compare him to another Philly fighter, he actually reminds me of Meldrick Taylor somewhat. His hand speed is amazing and his footwork is often off balance because...

Less than impressed with mini-Charlo. He is the best of a solid division, and is undisputed. That is a big deal. It, in light of politics and resume, it not as big as I seems. As I said in another thread, he is Jermain Taylor. When he beats someone, who is actually good, let me know. A...

It's a combination of a) the Canelo victory tour/cash grab on his way out b) the leverage Floyd "taught" boxing about being the A side and and being able to make, and get away with, ridiculous demands, and c) boxing's current lack of a bigger star than Canelo. The only dude who seems to get...

This is insane. Jermall going to 168 for his first fight was nuts, this is dangerous. Plus how did Mikey Garcia look jumping to 147 to fight Spence? And I had more faith in Mikey than either Charlo.

Have you seen Morrell fight? I haven't. And I don't remember the last time I heard a Cuban fighter talk that kind of ****.

While Benavidez might be a bit too risky and dangerous for Canelo at this stage of his career. Well, the same may apply for Morrell as it relates to Benavidez, who is higher up on the pecking order of PBC. With the news that Benavidez had no real interest in facing him, **** hath no fury like...

It's just,...I don't know... mostly a waste of time? I'm looking at fight cards and seeing the promoters (and fighters) market higher profile individual fighters, but not real fights. Boxers have short careers. During those years you have to make your money AND your legacy. There are some...

He isn't a joke. He is a fading fighter who knows what leverage he has had, but seems to not understand it is fading. My theory is that the most marketable fighter, at any given time, is an American heavyweight champion. If there is not one of those, then we go to the most popular Mexican guy...

    1. LOVE fights at the armory. 2. Prograis did not look good. Seemed confused, either did not have or did not execute any gameplay, and chased rather than cut off. This was really disappointing as I like him and he had a chance to make a serious statement at 140. The result was that he showed...

Welcome to the victory lap/fade out. Charlo - He'll fight a dude that a) doesn't fight b) would have to come up in weight c) would fight, for the first time, at that new weight and d) has mental health issues that prevent him from training and fighting. Geez, that is a toss up..... Jack -...

I know I thought that and I think we discussed it. Taylor looked slow and lacked confidence, even after trying to come out hard. I just don't see a future for him, and he'd be absolutely lost at 147. He's got the look of a guy who now signs with Matchroom, gets some sort of Euro title...

How does that actually work? DB's camp doesn't have that kind of cash. Are they, somehow, guaranteeing him a deal that grosses Canelo $50 million? Tank had a $5 million guarantee and Garcia $2.5, but both were expected to gross as much as $10-12 when all was said and done. Looks like they...

I never saw the live or PPV numbers for Garcia/Tank, and I didn't see any breakdown of the "crossover" audience Garcia was supposed to bring, so I don't have any empirical basis. If I have to guess, Haney/Tank does less than Garcia/Tank. I think the Garcia fight got Tank even more interest...

As I said, I had Haney winning the 12th, but it wasn't clear domination. Anyway it doesn't matter as I gave him round 12 for scoring purposes. However Loma won 10 and 11 and I don't see how any judge, from any angle, could score those otherwise. Those rounds were just that lopsided.

Three part response: 1. Usually, a guy in Haney's position takes a victory lap fight while he still has all the belts. It's just too difficult to be undisputed and hold on to them for long. But he doesn't seem like that kind of guy. 2. Haney stays at 135 for one more fight and that is Davis...
