Agreed. Clarke was surprisingly aggressive and good at tackling given his relatively small size, but he did not look good in coverage most of the time. But he's young, so we'll see what happens.

I know you aren't a high level football professional.

Exactly. No one is saying he's the best available or a superstar. But he's a good addition to a very thin CB room. The fact that top defensive coaches like Addae and Steele obviously feel that way certainly makes me happy we got him.

...a legend in his own mind.

The point is, I feel he's clearly a talented CB BECAUSE we've got a nationally recognized top notch CB coach, other experienced, high quality defensive coaches and analysts, and a PFF analysis which all say he's talented. That carries weight over my, or any other fan's, mostly uninformed and...

No one is saying you can't have an opinion. Just pointing out your non-expert, limited knowledge opinion carries FAR less weight than the opinions of top coaches who have coached top players at that position. Top coaches and analysts who watched the same film you did and came away with a very...

No, they could be wrong. But given the track record and quality of our staff, I'd say the odds they are right is exponentially higher than the odds some random non-expert on a message board would be right.

He comes across as the guy who would complain about a super model because in his view her nose isn't perfect and she's got a few freckles.

You find something to whine and criticize about everything. You are a miserable person. Mario is considered a top recruiter by pretty much everyone that matters, the experts, which leaves you out. So he didn't have a top 10 class...at Oregon, a school that has to reach far and wide to find...

Well, he got accolades from PFF based on his grading, and Addae and our other accomplished, expert defensive coaches were very quick to show interest. I'd say that carries FAR more weight than what impresses YOU.

What I'm saying is people are using his HS height to say he's only 5'9", as if he couldn't grow, which is nonsense. I'm not saying his HS listed height was accurate, maybe he really is only 5'9" now and was 5'7" then, but that's not the argument that poster was making. Regardless, the kid has...

It's amazing there are people who seem to think Porter must only be 5'9" because he measured 5'9" in high school. Apparently they think all growth stops at HS graduation.

So if he grew one inch in the couple years since HS, he'd be 5'10 or 5'11

Your hatred of Mario borders on pathological. First you attempt to downplay him by saying he's an "above average" recruiter when he's widely acknowledged as one of the elites....who has also surrounded himself with other elite recruiters here. Even if he "sucks" at gameday coaching, he has...

5'11" is the average height of an NFL corner. Plus arm length, timing of jumps, etc. are just as important. There are 5'11" corners better at defending high balls than 6'2" corners.
