The goal was not top 10 DL class. The goal was top 2.

If the DL class turns out to be Lightfoot, Franklin, Jones, and Russell, that's a disappointment. And I'm very high on 3 of those 4 players, but it's still a shadow of what the staff was aiming for.

I think it's because of where those guys tend to get drafted in the NFL. Not a lot of space-eating, true NTs getting drafted round 1 compared to edge rushers. They do the same thing to centers. But I agree with you 100%. A big NT that can occupy space, take on doubles, and still won't be moved...

NT is one of those positions that is undervalued by recruiting services. Edge rushers get all the love. But, there are only a handful of 300+ lb. DL ranked ahead of J. Jackson. Make no mistake, this kid is legit.

This kid is a beast.

I understand they play different positions. But, that's all the more reason to take Jackson. He's the better prospect, and there is nobody committed at his position. And they're both on the DL. It's at most oranges and tangerines.

IMO Jackson should be a clear take. We aren't signing 4 better DTs (and to my eyes he should be a take over Russell).
