Another P5 school in Florida would dilute recruiting in the state. UM & FSU cant stop another P5 conference from taking them, but they're not going to hold the ACC door open..

One reason is that one of their big selling points in recruiting is "you get to play big boy ball in the SEC". If Miami is in the SEC, S.florida kids won't have to leave home to do that, and other SEC teams will lose some of their clout, and they don't want that.
