He's not going there. And if it's a bag competition, FSU is way behind the rest of his list.

I actually think it's harder, even with Emmertt protecting his old friend Saban. Social media and other things shine a light on dirt. That's why schools are so systematic now. Before they were brazen.

The system evolves, but the bag schools have always had the same advantage. It's gone from Switzer to Stallings to Saban. The difference now is that we are fighting the war on two fronts: they are negative recruiting our performance while dangling the bag. That's tough to beat.

The landscape has changed for sure-- paying coaches, facilities, under-the-radar recruits. All of that has changed tremendously. But paying players has been around forever. And the difference between the haves and have-nots in the bag game has always been huge.

You keep dancing around the topic because you have nothing. Explain what's changed, and why that's significant. Alabama paid $200K to sign Albert Means in 2001. The price tag for Tyrique Stevenson wasn't even close to that.

But I thought the bag game is a new "revolution?" That is what @OriginalCanesCanesCanes is trying to peddle. You guys can't get your stories straight. Colleges have been buying players for decades. It is nothing new. Miami has never been the big spender in terms of buying recruits. Even Nevin...

In other words, pure speculation based on nothing. Did you know that the 1999 class was ranked #1 in nation? The highest rated players in that class (Carey, AJ, Geathers) were all South Florida guys.

What revolution? Paying players? Have you ever heard of Southern Methodist? Alabama got busted for paying players in 1995 and then again in 2001. None of this is new.

Programs weren't paying twenty years ago? Keep flailing. The only difference now is that we've sucked for 15 years.

Honest question: did you follow recruiting 19 years ago? Everything you typed is wrong. Willis McGahee was a five star. Vernon Carey was the #1 OL in the nation and a consensus Top 20 prospect overall. Hester was a five star. Antrel Rolle was the highest rated prospect in South Florida. Wilfork...

And nobody believes in South Florida three stars more than me. I’ve beat that horse to death. But we need both to thrive. Win with the guys we have, and use that momentum to get the superstars.

Where were the bags for Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, Vernon Carey, Vince Wilfork, Antrel Rolle, Devin Hester, Mike Rumph and all the other South Florida stars we signed during that era? Those guys were national recruits. The difference is the Miami brand still meant something back then. We...

We will never get all the top local guys. There will always be guys like Marvin Jones and Lamont Green. But we will get most if we win.

We are still more talented than almost every team we play. We need to beat the Dukes and Virginias. First get good, then get great. Clemson didn’t become Clemson overnight.

If Collins took a bag, his mom must have not known about it since she ran off with the LOI. Byrd went to the same school as his adopted brother. We are getting beat by teams like Alabama and Georgia. The teams competing for championships. We usually win battles with everyone else.

There is no chicken and the egg argument. We don’t need better recruits to win. We need better recruits to win championships. Win games, recruit better players, win championships. That’s the path.
