    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Oh kid, again, the "star" position isn't the "striker" position. The players in the star position all practice with the DBs, hone their skills as DBs, which the striker doesn't do. They aren't asked to line up as glorified LBs, which we do with the striker position. Do you know what the "star"...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Oh, I know. Yet somehow the top teams in the country make it work.

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

I never said they used it the entire game. And no Simmons is just a freak. Clemson runs the 4-3 defense, it's just that Simmons is the most versatile defensive player we've seen in more than a decade. But no, they run the 4-3 and then go to nickel and dime.

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Oh no, you really believe that don't you. No, Wade started because he was too good to leave off the field and they wanted their 4 best DBs on the field. When teams went to 3 wide sets Ohio State still brought in an additional DB. This year with their 2 CBs gone they're going back to the...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

The difference is those schools don't change those players bodies to play striker. We bulk our kids up and start them against all competition. And you're wrong, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Bama, all start in traditional 4-3 or 3-4, then move to nickel when called for. That's not even hard...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Yes, they start 4 DBs - Wade was the 3rd CB as a starter & he lined up in the safety position a lot of the time. Then when teams add more WRs, do you know what Ohio State does...wait for it...you'll never guess. They bring in more DBs. I know, it's groundbreaking stuff. I can't believe they...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Yeah, you're right. The defenses at Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, Georgia are all doing it wrong. They just don't win much using the base defenses they use. What are they thinking not using a ridiculous made up striker position where they bulk up players and have them play out of position...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

You're missing my point. When we move guys to striker we immediately bulk them up over their natural weight hurting their natural coverage skills yet still aren't big enough to handle at point of attack. Just let DBs be DBs and let LBs be LBs. It's that simple. It's not rocket science. It's what...

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

No one said McCloud had to get all those reps. When an extra WR is in the game, you bring a true DB in. When it's a TE / RB, stick in base. You know, the thing that the perennial best teams in the country do. The Striker position leaves us in the terrible in between. The sunken place.

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

No. I'd rather have them just sub in an additional DB when the opposing personnel calls for it. You know, like all the big time schools in college football do.

    Keontra Smith a striker now?

Just get rid of the striker position. I've never seen a team set themselves back by making up a starting position like Diaz has.
