Miami Central linebacker Waynmon Steed has been one of Miami's most solid commits throughout this recruiting cycle and that does not look like it is changing as the class comes to its close.

Steed told CanesInSight that he will have an in-home visit with Canes coaches on Thursday night. He is one of three linebacker commits (DeAndre Wilder and Bradley Jennings, Jr.) and is also an early enrollee.

Steed took a visit to Mississippi State with teammate Navaughn Donaldson recently, but he is fully expected to stick with the Hurricanes.

What is Steed's time table to return?

Need him to get that experience early bc after Shaq, Mike, and Zach, our corps starts getting awfully thin. Hopefully Owens is back to full strength and Perry takes another step next season.

Dad says he should be green light for full contact by start of season iirc. Should be a contributor on special teams and maybe be a reliable backup by mid-season if all goes well. Must say I like him the best of all our LB commits so far.

His pops said he would be out all of next year barring a miracle. So he will be ready to roll by Spring 2018 and fully healthy.

I stand corrected. I might have confused the dates.

He will be ready for full contact next summer before the season starts.

Need him to help secure Donaldson, must have recruit.

We ok at LB with Gordinier and Owens returning next year too. Gives the kid time to train and rehab fully for an impact in 2018. Would like to see the focus on being a faster LB crew in the off season.

Not talked about enough, always happens with the solid commits. Kids going to be a beast and make a lot of plays here. His speed is underrated, hope he's back to 100% by fall.

Outside of Wilder this is a lackluster LB class, adding that Juco kid Johnson would help a ton.

What makes you like Johnson? Because with a take like this, methinks you haven't watched a single tape of our linebackers.
