yea i get what your trying to say buddy but don't backtrack and take back what you said about how you can out-recruit anybody and you would personally be able to land the greatest classes in the history of college football.. if thats the case why are you on a message board and not out producing championships??

I don't think you are comprehending what I wrote.

No he isn't. Golden at a minimum needs to close on half of those. That's his last great claim to fame is his supposed recruiting skills.

After lasts years ownage by jimbo in the closing area i gave up on him as a elite recruiter. FSU is whipping our *** on the trail n they will continue to until we stop them from getting kids who should b canes. Valentine would b a huge pull because after next year Dlineman r gonna want to play with him.

You act as if the kid has no say in where he goes. That's my biggest problem with most fans. No one knows the reasons a kid has in choosing where he goes. I don't give a **** what the trolls and ***.E Gayously say. It's not as black and white as Golden failed/landed a kid. Just like we had Duke, Chick and Darling all of whom have wanted to attend UM since they were little kids other schools have the same type of kids. Or it could be a Keef situation, everyone in that kids family pushed him away from staying in SoFla, or it could be a Lane situation where he wants to blow loads on his BF's face in college. Or maybe not everyone in SoFla likes Miami. Just because you grew up in the 305 and always loved UM doesn't mean the kids do. For all we know Cook idolized Warrick Dunn growing up.

Gro you are missing the point. To be an excellent recruiter you have to be an outstanding evaluator and a mind changer. What minds is Golden changing? His eval skills are not up to par with a great recruiter. This is the last thing that will save his career here.

only way I give Golden a pass on not firing Dorito is if somehow we pull in valentine back in.

How does getting a guy to re-committed who was committed for many months and only de-committed when Aldo decided to pursue another job excuse not trying to fix that fake and historically bad defense?

if Al misses TV then he is dead to me. You can't lose Valentine, Cook, Powell, Lane, Rudolph, Dixon, K.Clark, Sony and Treon in a given cycle. That would be coming off losing almost everyone who was anyone in the tri-county area the year before. Its nice that we have Chad and Kc, but these are the guys that would be Canes if I were the head coach. James Coley is the only reason Yearby is a Cane. If Golden can't keep more guys home , then he needs to find a new home himself.

I don't entirely disagree, but some of those comments are a bit much. You say that Chad and Kc would be Canes if you were the coach, but you might have said the same thing about Sony or Valentine, for example, if they had been solid commits throughout. You say that Yearby only is a Cane because of Coley (which probably is true), but I wonder whether Cook would be a Cane if it wasn't for Yearby [and whether Lane would have followed Cook here too-- :) ]. Besides, how many people say that the only reason Jimbo has Winston is because of Dameyune Craig?

I'm just not up for criticizing on the one hand and refusing to give any credit on the other.

By the way, I'm good getting Yearby before Cook. I don't want the above to be interpreted differently.

fair enough. Chad seems to be a guy that just wanted to stay home no matter what, but I am speculating there. Kc and Darling didn't care if Golden left, they both said they were coming regardless. Darling said it didn't matter who the coach was and that he was a Cane no matter what. Either way, the point remains. He needs to have more success [at] keeping homegrown talent home. If the trend doesn't change, then he won't be here much longer

Absolutely not debatable. "Keeping homegrown talent home" should be a formal, listed job requirement of any UM coach.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...g-why-canes-need-travonte-valentine-to-commit

article recaps what we all know about the situation but seems to imply that we should be able to get TV back.

Bleacher Report? Leave that weak sauce on the shelf.

When is the passe impression of that site going to end? It's comical. With so many major outlets like Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly, etc. going out of business, Bleacher Report has acquired countless highly respected contributors, life long professional journalists. To pretend it's merely some guy in his basement is equivalent of mistaking the 2001 Canes for today's version.

Bleacher Report has a lot of good writers nowadays.

Bleacher Report is virtual toilet paper. The articles read like 4th grade book reports.

If someone besides James "I suck off LSU every chance I get" Smith wrote this, my jimmies might be rustled. As it is, they remain in a holding pattern.

Champagnat Catholic, Hialeah, Fla. defensive tackle Travonte Valentine has been linked to LSU for quite some time now. The 6-3, 338-pound behemoth is set to visit the Tigers on January 24 in what could be the end of his recruitment. He took an unofficial to Miami this past weekend, but as they pressured him for a commitment, he made it known that he wasn't in a position to give them one at that time. In fact, we have learned that Miami trails LSU significantly at this stage of the process with those close to him calling it a done deal for the Tigers. As we have all learned this recruiting cycle, there is no such thing. However, LSU appears to be in great shape at this time.

Valentine is the most important player left on the board for Al Golden and he has to be relying on Hurlie Brown to keep Valentine home. I believe LSU will roll out the red carpet for him with their loveliest and prettiest hostesses but TV better realize it's all together different after you sign the dotted line. I believe Valentine starts for Miami year one and that he's in the NFL after 3 years.

Yep. Hurlie is our only hope. It's going to be real hard to pull him from L$U.

Kid tweeted out he was still home a few hours ago and that he "smh" at all the rumors.

11 pages of nonsense. Give the kid and yes, the process, some space.

This will make Bryce Brown throwing the U hat on the floor and stomping on it, while Arthur cheered him on, pale in comparison.

Dude is playing us like a fiddle.

If he is getting paid, then more power too him. I have said it before, any kid that gets money out the corrupt NCAA slavery system, more power too them. I hope he gets whatever he can, seriously.

I hope he comes here, but if LSU is got someone paying him, I can't fault him one bit for taking that money. Those that criticize them taking the money, you all ain't walked a mile in those kids shoes. Stop being hypocrites, 99% of you all would do the same **** thing.

I hope he comes here. I wish we had more money to play the game, but it is what it is and the NCAA ain't changing, so deal with it.
