Everyone saying Walker is in the running to take a Tackle spot hasn't seen his recent IG stories, kid needs a year in the weight room or we will have another Zion situation.

I don't see him starting but expect him in the 2-deep at some point this season.

Tyree St. Louis had a similar profile as a solid pass blocker and wall-off run blocker with limited power. I’d take that level of production.
St. Louis was maybe our most dependable starter and had best 4 year OL career of a UM OL in a long while. Probably since Feliciano/Linder. Not that he was great but just dependable. That tells you a lot about what we should be looking for, and perhaps about our talent level since the Stoutland kids left.

I hear ya. That 2-deep was from 247 Sports.

The staff was impressed with Campbell in the few Spring practices that took place. I think he's taking his game up a notch.
It makes sense on Campbell. He’s now in year 3 so this should be when he is ready. People got down on him because of the Florida game but that was a no win situation. He has good tools and was a good recruit. ACC/SEC offers. This is when he should be ready to play.

He did look better at guard late in the season after Donaldson went down. But he still scares me some at OT.

I remember your thread on Tommy Kennedy last yr.
To be fair several power 5 colleges wanted Kennedy as well. It's extremely difficult to predict how a player will transition to play against better talent. For instance let's say FCS talent is like a level 6 and Power 5 football is a level 8. Some players can absolutely dominate a level 6 of competition but if they step up just one level to level 7 they are pure trash. There are other player's who compete at the same level no matter what the competition is. It's really interesting tbh. You will see power 5 talent like a Gus Edwards who looks like an average Power 5 RB and can get you 700-800 yards a year and a couple of TDs but never look like a star. These type of Players can go do the same exact same thing in the NFL, they can give you the same 700-800 yards a year and look like a quality starting RB. Then there are Players who will absolutely dominate power 5 competition and look like future NFL stars and then get to the NFL and they absolutely suck and can't do anything because they went over the level of competition they could handle. It's really quite interesting and I wish someone would do a scientific study about it.

I'm a long-time Canes fan, and have lived outside the area for many years, now in Nevada. I keep wondering, year after year, seemingly for well over a decade, why is it so difficult for Miami to recruit top ranked offensive linemen? When was the last time we had an offensive line that had quality depth? Is it the heat and humidity that keeps them away? When was the last year the offensive line could be ranked in the top 25 of the country? Has the shortfall only been in the recruiting or also in inadequate coaching?

I agree with you. I think he's going to be really good this year which I pointed out that the staff is high on him.

New OC. New OL coach. And this is your take? It's not Kool-Aid you need, it's a warm bath and a straightrazor.
Well, I am half Italian so I do get your meaning but my old hands are shaky so I might miss the vein. Why don't you come over add run that tub for me so you'll have a nice comfortable place to fall after the twin barrel 10 gauge does its work. What the **** is wrong with you?

Whoa, man?! I was talking about the soothing power of a hot lather shave and relaxing bath. Dark mind, man. Several mental health organizations providing telehealth consultations. Please be well.

Hey, this cabin fever is a *****. You left out the hot blonde or I might have gotten the right idea. Do any of them do Face time. I just mastered that on my ipad. Stay safe my brother.

Explain this to me like I'm 5 years old:
Campbell finished 2019 as our starting LG, and Scaife has started 20 games at RT.
Campbell lasted one game at RT in 2019 and was called for 15 penalties in one game.
Why...why are we suddenly believers in Campbell again as a tackle? 4 practices in the spring?
