Doesn't make sense to me either. It's not his GPA. If he didn't have the GPA to get into UF, he won't be able to go to Miami. From what was reported on 247 or this site, it seems like he's a credit short which is preventing him from EE'ing at UF. It's likely he took a class that UF isn't accepting for whatever reason, yet Miami possibly could given that they're a private school. I don't know this kid or his situation so I'm merely speculating.

He wants to enroll early. He is 1 credit short or his GPA won't go through clearinghouse (depends who you listen to), UF won't budge, he's not happy about it. Miami saw the door was open and slid right in. He did for sure get a visit from Banda recently. Also the kid just said HE didn't reach out to UM. Didn't say anything about HIS CAMP not reaching out...

The latest I got.

dont understand that. If the it won't go through the clearinghouse... How would UM be able to do anything different than UF? and "UF won't budge", how can they?

The same way UM can "put a plan together" to get kids like Choc and Mullins in? I'm no expert, but there's wiggle room on the school's end.

The school can do whatever they want. They can easily allow him to enroll while work on finishing whatever he needs to finish to get that credit through the semester.

doubt that

Exactly. Never fall for the "his grades/test scores were too low" story. If a team really wants a guy, they make it happen.

Lol what? Miami is free to do what they want for an incoming freshman. If they want to put a plan together for him, nobody is stopping them. If it's a class that UF won't take, they can make it happen. The schools are free to do whatever they want.

I'm guessing you don't have much experience in admissions, homie.

Not one mention of Frenk in this entire thread, huh? 2 years ago, Shalala's name would've been in every post. Let's see if Frenk really does care about putting the football program back on the map, bring in the savages!

lol tf you talking about? Miami can't have the kid enroll missing credits than be a student at miami while he makes up those credits

if that were true none of these kids would ever not be able to EE

This fan base is as dumb as it is made out to be.

Santonio Thomas couldn't get into Florida for some reason but made it into Miami.

Never learned the details, but I was happy we got him - the 2nd best DT in state that year behind Wilfork....

Just once I'd like to see a guy flip to us unexpectedly and I say, "I had to do what was right for me and my fam."

There is a line. I don't know Davis' situation. But if that were the case, why is Shavar Manuel still in JUCO?

I remember when I went to college and transcripts were mailed with the school seal in order to make it official but now everything is electronic and immediate. Maybe then I would buy this bs with trouble enrolling. Last semester ended about a month ago and your telling us that now your a credit short or whatever?! The recruiting coordinator makes sure everything is ready to go even before the semester is over. I knew something was up the minute the early enrollment for him was off the table for UF. I just didn't think we would be in the mix. Our staff probably wants him to EE by this week to see if he's for real and it doesn't seem like he is. I think our staff is putting recruits and other schools on notice that games ain't to be played as much as before. Also local coaches are seeing how the coaches are reaching out to them, the schools, and the community and they don't want to lose any trust with the staff.

So David is Mr. Gator and hates Miami and UM but he might come here if he has to wait a couple months to enroll at UF? Sounds legit.

Right, it's just like with Brandon Powell...things were slightly inconvenient so he went to uf. In both cases it's the university's fault. If you can't get a kid in on the exact day he wants, what do you expect?

i thought Powell was always waiting on the UF offer and got one days before enrolling...

That's my point. These dudes don't bolt at the last second because you messed up, they bolt because they want to be somewhere else. Sounds like Davis if having second thoughts about uf, let's hope he follows through.

doesnt sound like he's having any second thoughts about UF, sounds like he wants the immediate gratification of being an EE and will consider doing it at UM if he can't there... He was probably telling all his classmates before the christmas break "Peace out, i'm off to college to do big things", and now he doesnt wanna look like a ****

Terribly short-sighted, but I wouldn't put it past a HS kid. If a member of the staff told Pete this, I'll assume it's true and the kid is walking it back out of embarrassment. If that's what happened, the staff member should have kept quiet about it. In the end, who knows? Staff can't really comment and the kid will say whatever he thinks is best for him.

We need a little luck on our side, hopefully we pull it off.
