Exactly how I see it along with a better OL coach and an infinitely better playcaller.

Look at McDermott as Exhibit A. He looked like a sloppy pile of pre-diabetic **** last year. This year, he already looks like a completely new man. I think he's down 25 pounds, and his whole body looks re-distributed.

the first unit is likely to be serviceable and you are right with a better play caller it should shield some of the weaknesses. to be specific, i am very concerned about the next unit and the one after that. certainly there will be some injuries on the OL as there is every year and i do not have much confidence in those two units.

let's pray for health

If any college team gets to its 3rd team OL they're sunk. We have two starters coming back for the fall in Linder and Sunny to go with the guys who did well this spring. We're good.

Save your sweat for the deplorable situation at CB because I don't see any help on the horizon.

We need a capable body there bad ! Especially with more spread teams coming into the coastal. Idk what they were talking about during the spring practice interviews when they said they gotta evaluate what's the position of most need CB, WR, or FB

Yeah. When Richt mentioned FB in the same sentence as CB I almost **** my drawlz. It would be nice to add another FB. It's absolutely imperative to add a CB.

Unfortunately, if they've rebuked JC Jackson then there's nothing out there. Maybe that dude Echols from Texas is still available?
He is last time I heard but 5 bucks says they won't even consider him because he's 5'9...which has to be Diaz's preference btw because if Coach Richt was at UGA he would have 4 CB's 5'10 or smaller on his roster. The Franchise

Zach Mccleod is every bit as a beast and ready as Shaq and Pinckney are.He just has the best LB on the team ahead of him. As far as getting a RS on him, that will depend on how well darrion Owens returns to form.dont forget last years regime considered him the best LB on the team-take it where it's coming from, so that plays a big part in getting a red shirt on Zach.dont forget the LB depth we have with Shaq,Pinckney, grace, young, Perry, and Owens to go along with Zach. So if Owens returns to past form, they may feel they can sneak Zach through on a RS. I think Owens return to form plays a big role in that decision. If Owens is truly back, with Young, and Perry, that gives us 2 deep at every position so a Zach RS could happen. But he is not to be undervalued in regard to Shaq and Pinckney.Like I said he just has the defensive leader ahead of him.Zach is going to be an All-conference type LB if you've watched his HS development.sideline to sideline player who knocks offensive lineman straight off their feet. He brings that type of physicality.hes going to be a great replacement for Grace when he leaves. but if we can sneak a RS on him due to Owens being healthy then why not.

We are set at QB, and people need to relax about WR and passing options. Coley has All American potential this year, Berrios looks ready and healthy, and Cager will make his plays. the TE position is going to be huge cause Richt loves using them and boy do we have 2 talented ones in Njoku and Herndon. And Njoku can profile as a WR/ slot guy and will be special. That's before we even get to Ahmmon Richards, Sam Bruce, Dionte Mullins, and Duval. Kaaya will have plenty on his plate to dish to.
On the Off line yes we lack depth, but better coaching, more experience in total number of starts, and continuity will help this unit overall. We should be better, and we haven't even seen Linder and Sunny back yet. So they add 2 more depth pieces along with Gauthier and Gall.Depending on who starts will push any of Trevor, KC, Linder, isadora, Tyree along with Gall,Sunny,or Gauthier into our pool of depth. Sure we'd like more but that's 8 players for 5 starting spots. So we should have 3 serviceable backups.
At RB we have nothing to worry about.Walton is another year stronger and wiser. Yearby was fantastic last year and has some vision that can't be taught (isn't his jump cut jukes a thing of beauty), Gus Edwards won the starting job out of camp and correct me if I'm wrong was the fastest 40 times RB we has in the 4.5 range at 235LBS. I'm just about certain he clocked the fastest 40 time of all RB's last summer because I remember being shocked he was faster then the others at his weight, along with Grace's 40 times. Choc Gray is total package and looks great sometimes, and I'm not quite sure why he can't put it all together. Also Travis Homer will have a chance to earn carries if he proves he's physically ready. If not we RS him. Both Walton and Yearby are great catching out of the backfield so we good there.
Now let's take into account all the talent we've got with a much more intelligent play caller and better offense. Better coaching will bring more out of this offense. And let's hope Kaaya finally puts it ALL together and has those big time games you see #1 picks have in college. I personally think he comes back for his 4th year, as his family is stable, and I'm not quite sure he's top 5 material yet. We'll know by game 4-5 if he's progressed to that point. Look at Connor Cook, everyone had him pegged as the first QB taken, now a guy from FCS may go 1 overall in Wentz, Goff from Cal, Paxton Lynch from Memphis, and maybe one other I'm forgetting all project ahead of Connor cook who mid season was everyone's 1st QB taken. If he has a SR left he sure should have taken it. But Kaaya is no lock for 2017 draft....Anddddd if MR.Kaaya does elect to come back for 2017, I believe we have a right to start discussing a shot at not only the ACC title, but possibly the final 4.

CJ Perry could possibly help at the FB position.
DMoney I thought the same thing. Has this been mentioned by anyone around the program or is this just speculating on your part (not flaming)? I think he would be a perfect fit if he has the balls for it.

He played rb/fb in highschool in addition to his lb role.

We will see positions switches this summer. Richt has already stated that. he knows what he has now so he has to put the guys in the right spots. Perry may or may not go to FB but we still have a long way to go.

Yankee,

Even hitting the "enter" key at random intervals is better than one massive block.

People should quit whining about WR. That position will transform instantly in the fall with 4 new talented players.

There's one position that should be causing bubble guts for coaches and fans. And that's CB.

yup

I hope he's right....

I'd like to see what he can do - especially with our DL coach....

It's a torn acl....same knee.

Dmoney what do you know about Patchan injury? Haven't seen anything official on it.
And how was he progressing before the injury.

Thanks

I believe he's out for the year but don't know for sure. He was progressing well so it was very disappointing.

He tweeted that he wasn't missing any games this year.

Thanks for the information DMoney

Some things I am wondering:
1) how are we on QB and WR/TE/passing options
2) what is the deal with the o-line
3) do we have anything to worry about at running back?
4) how could our talent come together with this new coaching
5) predictions on kayaa staying/going/draft stock?
